Essendon's list may be slightly better but the club is a mess, at least North made a decision on the coach earlier, who sacks a coach with one round to go?

North aren't that stable behind the scene either

Saw enough from North since they sacked Noble that they have quite a lot young talent to work with and mold

Essendon's probably is better at this stage, but not as much as you think, and has a lot more dead wood and older players to be expunged too.

If Dodoro stays on at Essendon, I probably honestly would pick the North (or Giants) coaching job, Dodo has too much power at the club and autonomy over list management issues

Both sides have good young talls that will come through, it's more based on other parts of the ground for me

I’m not so sure do really want to go to a club that’s in such a mess off field the list manager and football gm hate each other there’s no president the board is a mess . At least there is only one way to go with north

North off field are just as poor, they don't even have a recruiting department set in place

Craig McRae has managed to get respectable football out of a list which was found in a dumpster behind an abandoned potato farm.

There is plenty to work with at Essendon for a good coach.

Collingwood made a grand final in 2018 and a Prelim in 2019 and still have half of them on the list with great leadership from Pendlebury Essendon scraped into 8th and have Heppell not exactly comparable

Man I'm banned from posting on their board because they didnt agree with my opinions about the coaching and recruitment, now they are saying everything I've been saying for three years.

I haven't watched a game in it's entirety for two seasons, I cancelled my membership two years ago. I'll renew it and support them again when the right changes are made, which seem to be happening. Too little too late, but start with the recruiter and basically clear out the whole football department.


So, I'm not supporter, I just haven't changed my team on an internet forum.

It's fascinating that the collective football world has decided that you need four centuries to work out if a coach is sh*t or not.

In this world, there are only Damian Hardwicks who will deliver premierships given enough time and no Mark Neelds. Somehow Truck is some innocent bystander who has nothing to do with how poor Essendon are.

Essendon's list may not be perfect but it's stocked full of early draft picks and there is plenty of talent there. There is no excuse for how rubbish they have been this year.

Clubs just sometimes need to cut their losses early and not throw good money after bad just hoping the guy will turn it around.

Bomber Thompson was close to losing his job in 2006 but got one more year. Goodwin was right up there to be sacked and turned it around.

People always underestimate those around the coach and the difference that makes.
