Something you wish you were. The high of a Michael Hurley renaissance is damn good s**t man.
Doesn't agree with me. I watched him take a mark last week then slowly go back over the mark, look straight down the line, pretend to assess other options like he had a really stiff neck, then kick down the line. I threw up a little.

I hope he plays next year too. He is certainly emotionally capable of being playing coach in VFL and AFL depth as KPP for both ends of the ground. However, it is a matter of whether we have the list spots.

If he was 50/50 and we retired him cause we didn't want to pay out Smith, I would feel sad.

There's 0 chance he's a finals capable KPD.

Do people really not remember his last few years pre-injury?
If heā€™s playing next year Iā€™d imagine itā€™s with us in a depth/mentor role for the young KPPs. We do still lack experience around the place.

Still hard to see it happening.

He could be the old general in defense that you keep raving about

You've simply made this argument up based on your poor comprehension of what I've written.

Why you'd then feel the need to bring it up in another thread, despite me already telling you that you'd got it wrong, is beyond me.

Ok.

You only have to look at how confused our team can look at times without strong on-field leaders to see how much a Hodge type presence would help.
Looking for a Hodge to Brisbane type pick-up that can play a year and direct traffic and reinforce the coaches message.

  • You rave about the archetype of a veteran/leader/player-coach player as having more merit than a coach itself for improving a young side in the short term, and cite it as a barometer for a confused team.
  • Then backflip when people think Hurley could play a veteran/player-coach type role for a short-term period, and provide leadership to our young confused side.
Methinks it's more you just not being able to stay consistent, rather than anything to do with me. Cheerio. :thumbsu:

As I said;

Truly bizarre.

Play him in the VFL until the last round and then the farewell game against the Tigers to finish the year off.

Home game against Richmond at the MCG on a Saturday night with no finals on the line seems quite fitting for a send-off.

Would you prefer a stop gap year with a fit Hurley at half back as captain or Heppell?

When I say fit Hurley I'm talking about the diminished player of 2019/20.

In typical fashion, we * this guy over one last time by creating a shitstorm rather than giving him a nice sendoff.

Love ya Hurls, get away from this joint as quick as you can.
