Geelong vs pies final should not be at the mcg.

Geelong don't play ANY big teams at Kardinia park, during the season. Why the f**k should they play Collingwood down there, in a final? 2 years of covid shite, the league needs the cash, and needs to showcase this beautiful game, in front of HUGE crowds, that were sorely missed.

The quicker, cheaper and fairer option would just allow Geelong to host finals they earn.
What about, kick Geelong out of the league if they don't want to follow the rules and give their license to Tassie, that way less teams in Vic and more states involved, everyone wins.

If we don’t want to follow the rules?

Wtf does that even mean? What, do you think we are going to kidnap 22 magpies players and force them at gun point onto a bus and ferry them to KP and then stage a match and walk off afterwards and claim the result?

How are we going to break the rules

When was the second game against Gold Coast? (Hint: it was a pre-season match).

Which rules? The ground dimensions comply the AFL guidelines; the capacity: Please cite the rule that you are referring to noting that Giants Stadium has hosted finals with a smaller capacity than KP.

The rules state you get a home state final, not a home ground final.

That's wtf it means.

Cats always have most advantageous fixture of any team.

Lucky to be the only Vic team who retained their home ground, so have a huge advantage at CatPark for 9 games.

But then also lucky to be as familiar with the G as the likes of Essendon, Carlton supposed co-tenants.

Cats dont sell home games to others states like majority of Melbourne teams, or be forced to play home games at the redundant Marvel stadium.
Richmond had eight consecutive games at the MCG prior to the finals in 2019; Geelong get nine home games per year.

This just destroys this thread.
Where did I say I support the thread?

Yeah I’d love us to play finals at home and believe we’ve earned the right to do it but it’s not happening so who gives a f*** just play it where they play it and prepare and play as best you can.

The default attitude of every second fan is to find a reason to blame someone else or some other circumstance for something that’s gone wrong or could go wrong. There’s nothing wrong with pointing out ‘well we were away so that didn’t help’ or ‘so and so was suspended so who knows what might have happened’ but f***ing hell the volume of people who rather than just look at the scoreboard and establish ‘well these guys played better than these guys’ would rather piss and moan about home ground advantage or ground dimensions or travel or umpire bias or rule changes or - as we are seeing now - country lifestyles or COLA or academies or the father son system or rigged draws etc etc etc is simply f***ing pathetic

That's 9 more than any other Vic club, be grateful
How do you figure? Collingwood vs Adelaide at the MCG is a neutral game? Let’s try and be a little sensible please.

And I’ll ask again, how are we going to break the rules and get ourselves kicked out.

Not show up to the game? Sell tickets printed on crackers to magpies fans for a game against the Spungoes?
OMG, do you actually take everything everybody says seriously?

You would be great to have a drink with at a party.

If I had insomnia.

Simple, you shut up and stop complaining. The league would be a lot better if they had a CEO who wielded power like a dictator.
Chris Scott complains about having to play a final at the MCG? Kick Geelong out of the finals, strip Geelong of everything it's won since Scott became coach, wipe Scott's career out of the record books, strip the broadcast rights from anyone who mentions Scott or tries to interview him, only to be lifted once he makes a public statement declaring all Victorian finals are to be hosted at the MCG, and that Geelong's home ground is the MCG.

Watch how quickly this issue disappears.

So for questioning the system and asking if it can be changed, that’s the punishment?

Oh yeah, good system

MCG is fine...ive said it before if you cant adapt to any ground you have no place playing finals.
so some years we should just have no teams in finals? There are very few teams in the last twenty years whose performance has been excellent and equivalent regardless of where they play.

we are talking geelong of the 07-11 era, hawthorn 2014-15 possibly and maybe richmond 2020. but thats about it.

That’s what makes them excellent though and more often than not the teams that win are at worst decent away from their home and very good at home.

I don’t disagree that it’s unfair, I would love home finals too but it is what it is, it’s not going to change and on the off chance that we do win the whole thing it will make it all the more enjoyable that there’s a good chance we take out a couple of MCG tenants along the way. If we don’t, it will be because they played better and we played worse
