Great evidence!

Exhibit C:

I enjoy listening to crunch time on SEN on a Saturday as they usually spend the majority of the first 30-45mins talking about the Friday night game which has good analysis.

Swans smacked the Bravedogs on Friday night round 17 or thereabouts and I wanted to hear all about it, instead SEN spent the vast majority of the time talking about the Thursday night game which was cats v dees!!

Another slap in the face! Surely it’s a direction from the hierarchy on where they spend their time?
I agree. The Sydney media are shit at promoting the swans and afl. Shit nsw/Sydney media. I

Does anyone get the feeling this is the stepping stone to being our assistant in 2024 onward as he seemed to mention that he may also cross over to AFL at times? I'm assuming he means our AFL squad.
The Academy gig won't have anything to do with our soft cap so it is a brilliant way of getting such an experienced person to our club without the soft cap being affected. He mentioned he wanted the year off senior coaching which is why he didn't go for the Bomber job.

If Pyke moves on then Leon could be sitting next to Horse going forward.

Just a few random thoughts regarding an interesting addition to our club which I like a lot.

I really don't rate Cameron as a coach at all. He made finals off the back of a very good squad topped up with a lot of high draft picks, and the Making Their Mark doco I think revealed how poor his handling of Cogs' captaincy was.

Sam Naismith on his recovery from his 3rd ACL. Imagine if he was to season 2023 what Sam Reid has been to season 2022!

'Cautious approach' for Swans big man after third reco

The faff from the VIC media bias towards the Pies is unbelievable. Fairytale this. Meteoric rise that. Jesus. They played a granny in 2018, a prelim in 2019, and were in the 8 in 2020. I wouldn't call it a fairytale. Bones have been there for a while.

Anyone else would think there's only one Vic team left. Poor Geelong.

Geelong is interstate for most of them.

Could we fit Hanners in our line up for a year?

Not for $180K per game though! :frowning:

That would be 1 game next year. Who ever signs him up has to be based on match payments or benchmark of 10, 15, 20 games.

Marc McGowan on John Longmire

Lovely article about Horse. I feel he doesn't get enough credit.

Longmire’s star rose quickly and he was Roos’ right-hand man by the time Sydney won its drought-busting 2005 flag.

“When Rodney left, we were sitting around and we actually discussed whether we just rotate or do it collectively,” Roos said.

“We were both involved, along with the group of players who were there in 2003, in creating the Bloods culture ... so that’s the big difference between what he’s done and what other coaches have done taking over certain clubs.

“People don’t give him enough credit for the ’05 grand final.

“It’s not that he’s looking for credit or needs credit, but when you look at his history, it’s not just the 12 years he’s been senior coach. His legacy goes well beyond that.”

It goes to show you what a groupthink the AFL media landscape is. Once enough people share the same opinion it just becomes a fact even if there’s evidence against it.

On the MB here I’ve seen plenty of comments about it being boring if the Swans are in the grand final because we’re always in it so Collingwood and Brisbane would be different.

Since 2010 (arbitrary number but why not) Collingwood and Sydney have both played 3 grand finals (Collingwood actually 4 because of the draw) and both have won a single flag. Collingwood has also played in a grand final more recently than us.

Generally speaking the footy media are sheep and one idea rattles around between the lot of them until it becomes gospel.

12SEP22: Dylan Stephens interview/News.com
Piece on Dylan Stephens. He thought it was morally the right thing to do, to stay with us and fight for a spot.

Seems like a great kid. I found the part where he was comparing himself unfavourably to those drafted around him quite illuminating. Sucks he had to experience that as that feeling of not totally believing in your own worth can be awful, and no doubt would've played a part in his form issues. Modesty is good but it can cross over into a lack of confidence pretty easily. So glad he looked inwards and just focused on himself, and so stoked for him that he made the decision to stay and is now being rewarded for it.

These sooks down here complaining about the size and attendance at SCG and Deeewayne f ing Russell saying it should be at ANZ FFS . A few Swans having a crack back . Bet the imba doesn't read my text
Would they be so keen if they realised the playing surface is even smaller than SCG? The whining would be never ending.
