Just get Harry Lemmy & Max Knobel and call it a day
I think that you are on the money here.

Knobel a clone of his Dad and Lemmy could be a true slider... was a projected first round pick last year...
was injured and ill this year and when he did get on the field... was played as a back not a forward

Max Gruzewski
Defender/Forward, VIC
Age: 21/07/04

Weight: 84kg

Height: 192cm

Club: Vic Metro/Oakleigh Chargers/Surrey Park JFC/Caulfield Grammar

2022 National Champs N/A2022 NAB League85 ranking points, 13.7 disposals, 5.0 marks, 1.6 intercept marks

A good-sized key position player, Gruzewski is super competitive, versatile, courageous and tough. He has played a mixture of defence and has even spent time in the midfield with the Chargers in the NAB League, while featuring as a tall forward at school level with Caulfield Grammar. He was briefly part of the Vic Metro squad for the under-18 national championships after an impressive first four games of the year for the Chargers.

However, he went down a PCL knee injury while playing school football not long after and has missed most of the second half of the year, returning in the final round of the NAB League.

Gruzewski was then added back to the Vic Metro squad and played in the final game of the under-18 national championships against Vic Country as a forward, where he caught the eye with some big contested marks and kicked two goals.

Gruzewski is a smart decision maker and leader, has strong endurance and throws himself at the contest in the air to take a mark or get a spoil. When playing in defence, he reads the play well and is not afraid to leave his man and leap in front of a pack to take an intercept mark.

Phoenix Foster

Forward/Ruck, SA

Age: 12/9/2004
Weight: 85kg
Height: 196cm
Club: Norwood/Wudinna United
2022 SANFL U18s 93 ranking points, 12.6 disposals, 1.9 contested marks, 21 goals (total)
2022 National Champs 61 ranking points, 7.7 disposals, 2 contested marks, 10 hitouts
The mobile big man has booted 21 goals in nine SANFL under-18 matches this season, hitting the scoreboard every time he’s stepped out for the Redlegs. While still raw, Foster moves well and is terrific at ground level for a player of his size. But it’s his hands in the air that have really caught the eye this year, with the 17-year-old taking three contested marks in each of the first two national carnival matches. He’s hard to deal with one-out, but Foster is at his best when attacking the ball in the air.

Whatever picks we end up with, I would be using them on either talls or pacy smalls. Our track record with mids and medium-sized utilities isn't great.

Of all players we've drafted in the last 10 drafts the following have become best 22 players for either us or an opposition club:
  • Two out of three smalls (69%)*
  • One in three talls (36%)
  • One in five mids (18%)
  • One in five utilities (20%)
* I've combined small defenders and small forwards as a lot of them have played both

There seems to be quite a few tall prospects come late in the draft.

Just got to lick the right one
No use just taking one and hopefully striking pay dirt. We’d probably have more of a chance if we invite 2 or 3 talls to do some of the preseason and then draft one if we think he’s okay. There is likely to be 5 or 6 that have fallen out and we could rookie/SSP list, if one shows enough.

Olivier Northam

Ruck/Forward, VIC

Age: 28/7/04
Weight: 90kg
Height: 195cm
Club: Vic Country/Geelong Falcons/St Joseph's
2022 National Champs 70 ranking points, 9.3 disposals, 11.3 hitouts, 3.5 marks, 0.3 goals, 3.5 score involvements, 3.0 tackles (four games) 2022 NAB League U18s 98 ranking points, 12.7 disposals, 17.9 hitouts, 8.9 contested possessions, 3.8 clearances, 2.6 marks, 0.8 goals, 4.2 score involvements (13 games)
Northam may not have the height of other ruck/forwards but his athleticism allows him to become an extra on-baller who thrives when the ball hits the deck. Northam was No.1 ruckman at the national championships for Vic Country, with his third match against Western Australia the highlight, tallying 13 disposals, eight score involvements five marks, a goal and 134 ranking points. For the Falcons in the NAB League, Northam has won a whopping 67.9 per cent of his possessions in a contest - to put that into perspective, Carlton bull Patrick Cripps has a 53.9 per cent rate across his career. Northam is incredibly clean below his knees for a big man and has good speed and agility. - The Australian

Max Knobel

Ruck/Forward, VIC

Age: 27/06/04
Weight: 86kg
Height: 205cm
Club: Vic Country/Gippsland Power/Maffra FNC
2022 National Champs 53 ranking points, 7.0 disposals, 14.0 hitouts, 3.3 hitouts to advantage, 2.3 clearances, 2.3 score involvements, 2.8 tackles (four games) 2022 NAB League 64 ranking points, 7.8 disposals, 16.6 hitouts, 5.8 hitouts to advantage, 0.9 clearances, 2.4 score involvements, 1.4 tackles (12 games)
A towering developing young ruckman, Knobel is still learning his craft but is showing real potential after a late growth spurt. He played some good footy in the NAB League with Gippsland Power this year, as well as in the under-18 national championships with Vic Country. With Vic Country, Knobel has played as a ruck, which has also been his primary role with the Power. However, some believe he has shown the most promise as a key forward with his ability to read the ball coming in and mark it at its highest point – out of reach of any would-be opponent. Knobel is also a very competent left-foot kick for his size. While considered a long-term prospect like most big men, many believe that an investment in Knobel could pay off for an AFL club down the track. Knobel was named as the starting ruck in the NAB League Boys Team of the Year. He is the son of former AFL ruckman Trent Knobel, who played with Brisbane, St Kilda and Richmond across a 75-game career and is now part of the coaching panel with the Power.- The Australian

Knobel is a good prospect hopefully we're in the range.

Knobel is seen as a highly rated big and played well in the Vic v Vic game.

Lemmy was rated highly - sort of like sonsie prior to sliding down the rankings.

Your right. No point taking a tall for the sake of it. But if the clubs think one with decent potential is still there might be the go. More so if Soldo is leaving ( :( )

Bigoa Nyuon was taking +50 and looks alright, as an example
