More power to the young man this is exactly the type of focus and dedication that makes a difference.

He had every right to go on holidays like most kids his age, or at least go home. But instead stayed in melbourne to try to better and fitter, which he needed it, given he had been behind the pack this year.Stop the presses! 19yo professional sportsperson is living the life of a professional sportsperson.
Iceland?Arlo Arlo Arlo, what's goin' on 'ere then.

This might be the best news of our entire off seasonSo word on the street is Arlo hasn't had a break this pre-season. Has been training every day since the season ended. Has bulked up. Is fitter and stronger.
And pre-season hasn't even began. Looking forward to seeing him in a few weeks.
Wonder if they could put him back on the wing, now with Poulter gone and be the replacement for SideyGood moves by Arlo. He has recognised that he is only as good as his contract's length and could be discarded at any time after next year.
Drapes has potential. Cracking the midfield will be a tough ask but he may find a spot somewhere. Macrae, Draper, McInnes and Harrison will be banging on the selection door and keeping many best 22/3 players honest. The priority of the younger players is to solidify consistent VFL games and then perform at AFL level when they have the chance.
He's ****ing gallivantingArlo Arlo Arlo, what's goin' on 'ere then.

before its began haha.Arlos won pre-preseason.
Jen just to be clear that wasn’t a dig at you. I think the industry struggles a bit at communicating what it takes to be an AFL footballer. He had every right to go on holidays like most kids his age, or at least go home. But instead stayed in melbourne to try to better and fitter, which he needed it, given he had been behind the pack this year.
Poults is included there too.Maybe the delisting of McMahon and Murley is a bit of a wake up call to draftees that unless you’re heading in the right direction with your football, you’re at risk of getting cut.
If it’s true that Draper has been training hard in the off-season, it puts a bit of pressure on the other kids
How could I forget about Poulter??!!Poults is included there too.
Another S.A. boy and it may have had a bigger impact, (on Draper) given he’d played so much senior football.
Arlo has won pre-preseason.
Agree. Good luck to him. But if you're coming into your second year after a quiet first year and watching Poulter and McMahon get delisted and not working your arse off, then you're going to need some luck.Haha.
But in all seriousness good on him for doing the extra work, can only him and the club in good stead if players general attitudes are like his.

haha i see what you did thereDraper realising that unless he puts in the hard work, it could be curtains
That reminded me of the interview he did at the start of the year after joining the club. Something along the lines of:Draper realising that unless he puts in the hard work, it could be curtains
In his defense, he lived a sheltered life. His parents are in some sort of cult where picking mushrooms and having deep discussions on how to make the world a nirvana state, so to speakThat reminded me of the interview he did at the start of the year after joining the club. Something along the lines of:
"Some of the boys are calling me curtains. Not really sure why, I think it must be my hair ..."
Surprising that the penny has dropped regarding working hard.
Do I need a passport to enter this state Nirvana !In his defense, he lived a sheltered life. His parents are in some sort of cult where picking mushrooms and having deep discussions on how to make the world a nirvana state, so to speak
Come camping at nimbin with me, it's always nirvana thereDo I need a passport to enter this state Nirvana !
I really hope this kid makes it, for no other reason than it will be awesome when this video re emerges via some footy show or social media, and then becomes a part of the folk lore, like tj getting called chompers or the cloke "smoke and shadows" video. That reminded me of the interview he did at the start of the year after joining the club.
