From what I was told they wanted him to commit for a roughly 4 more years and get heavily involved in there junior programs and he didn’t know if he wanted that commitment and have the time for seniors and juniors
This is true, the premiership coach just wanted a one year deal but club wanted 4 years so they need a new coach , as far as the other post calling them Crimebourne , Cranbourne are a fantastic asset to Sfnl Div 1 as their supporters travel to away games in big numbers and actually spend money at opposition clubs and the crowd at the Grand Final was excellent

Absolutely great to have a club like them in the sfl definitely Mpnfl loss not taking them

What happened at Crimebourne, coach got the ass or what.???

Any other gossip from other clubs. Hear Bentleigh going to very active in trade this year. Will struggle to hold on to both 19's sides players, ammoe's on the prowl. Could it be a club on the other side of North Rd known for pouching SFL clubs.
Was told Bentleigh had 60+ players at preseason training on Monday. Not sure if that was just 19s or a mix of the whole club but that’s insane numbers for November

They'll need everyone of them if they are going to run seniors,reserves,3rds 2 x u/19 's and a womens side.

Apologies to Cranny, they brought a lot to the SFL this year. :evergreen:
Enjoy the Christmas break, stay safe and bring on 2023 footy season.:santa:

A bit of talk on the Outer East page about Narre Warren potentially joining the comp in the near future. What a good get this would be! Cranny were a huge bonus to the league this (great crowds, well ran club), Narre would add another layer to this.
Hopefully they come across and the league continues to grow from strength to strength.

Yes absolutely agree would be great addition to the comp

Be careful what you wish for. If you start chasing big name clubs from Outer East (that's right OUTER EAST) you lose sight of your identity, that is the Southern Football Netball League.

Instead of chasing clubs 30 mins away from HQ, there are numerous VAFA clubs floating between C & B Grade within the Southern Bayside area I'd be knocking on their door, before we make Port Colts & St Kilda City keep travelling an hour to get to games

Great thoughts there, the SFNL need to be very wary of the VAFA travelling bug currently infecting allot of teams in most divisions. The beauty about SFNL is its localised in a fair percentage of grades.

Narre Warren are closer to HQ than Cranny Hampton Park Skye South Mornington etc. Think you are playing with your Saveloy there 2's Hack!

Narre were keen on Eastern, but at some point in the last 6 months that has gone stone cold, SFNL would accommodate Narre and it would increase the strength of the competition overall.

If a 45 minute drive down the Monash (from Port Colts) would mean a competition loses sight of its identity then I'll be damned. While travel should be a factor on a new club entering the competition I'd argue it's lower down on the list of requirements that I'm looking at. Administration, Finances, Culture, Reputation, Standing within the local community & junior development these are top of the pops if I'm an administrator at the SFNL.

From early indications Narre Warren FNC tick all these boxes and more.

I'm also not sure which clubs within the VAFA B & C grades you would target for a move to the SFNL?

Drive to these areas are already annoying as it is to play footy. Keep the outer East in the eastern or outer east.

100% they tick all the boxes, they are a great club. But when does the league stop calling it self the Southern Football Netball League & adopt the name change of Inner City Southern Outer Eastern Northern Peninsula West Gippsland Football Netball League, just to boast that they have 4 divisions?

That horse has well and truly bolted.

Narre Warren is a very short drive for half the competition now and would be a great fit.

Seems to me that the “traditional” bayside SFNL clubs were happy to let the league expand out deep into the SE suburbs and down the peninsula when it only impacted the bottom divs. Those decisions now make it very hard to reject potential new clubs like Narre just because it might mean more travel for the existing Div 1 clubs.

Its not too big a leap to see at least half of Div 1 made up of former SEFNL clubs in the not too distant future.

I would class a short drive being approx 10kms

the pinned map shows that 7 SFNL clubs out of 38 member clubs fall from within this 10km radius from Narre's ground, with a couple more just outside. So half the competition is a generalisation.

Agree most division 1 -2 clubs didn't batter an eyelid about Div 4 going to the peninsula as they were unaffected
