Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

The funniest thing is they haven’t even started rebuilding yet.
Cripps is done for the year-29 years old.

McGovern high hamstring- 31 years old.

Nicnat is sidelined. Probably won’t play half the season. 32.

Shuey- hamstring. 32.

It’s not that they got injuries. It’s to the senior players who can’t get on the Park. 2 wins last season, and trying to sell hope to the members this year.

But we will back our experience in!!

It wouldnt be much needed given his latest injury, like sub 500k I'd think. If we wanted a competitive KPP to tide us over the next few years, he'd be the perfect one. I'll back our injury guys to keep him on the park for the most part. Surely WC dont want to keep him given where they are at

What compensation would that get them though? If the Eagles aren't getting a first rounder for McGovern they'd prefer him to stay?

It's improbable that it'll happen but a great "what if" scenario.

If they got a round three pick for him on a $500k a year they would be lucky

I think at his age and injury history, getting even a 3rd round pick is better than him sticking around for another 2 years. Those 2 years are just wasted games they could add into that 3rd round pick and Bazzo (who actually looked good last year). Losing him also frees up space to front load a contract or two.

I've moved on from this in 24 hours anyway haha as I asked around and Cox is going nowhere supposedly.

My understanding is that he has engaged his agent to discuss a contract extension already.

Be interesting to see if the Eagles give him a fairly modest contract offer and wait and see what surfaces elsewhere.

I think they get to match a higher offer ?

... and Bazzo (who actually looked good last year, where is he anyway?).
His mother passed away in that boating accident over the summer. I believe he has been on personal leave.

I completely forgot, I hope that kid and family is ok

They can't match any offer for McGovern if he chooses to leave WC. Unrestricted means he could be offered $10,000,000 for a year at the Eagles and walk to another club offering $100,000 for one year if he wants a change of scenery.

Port Adelaide will be tough to beat, wish his fam lived closer to the city in Perth.
Should be easier for them to move closer to Perth then Adelaide and we have a guy who builds peoples houses...

Do we? Norths pick 20 and third. And 2024 first.
Nothing majorly appealing there, even less so if North keep improving.

Port Adelaide’s first selection this year is a second round tied to Collingwood. I think they might have us covered for having a sh** draft hand.
