I have a horrible feeling we'll sneak a couple of wins in the last 4 games of the season with the old boys back and North won't win another game.

Leaving us with pick 2 after this debacle of a season and with no shot at Harley Reid or any godfather offers.
That would put salt into a very festy wound. So far there is no standout 2nd 3rd or fourth best player to get super excited about like the pendelberry, buddy, roughhead draft.

There are still some delusional supporters that think we will enough games to overtake north melbourne.More chance north's win another game than us.We have so many players who have missed so much football. They will lack fitness and be rusty. We might be able to mitigate huge losses but not to win.

Norf are losing close one's and we are getting pumped by 10-20 goals

What obligation does Buller have to stay with Sydney after his 6 months is up? How does that process work, and equally how would it work if Culley chooses to move back East with another club?

Almost scared to ask as the outrage will be equal to not picking up TK 12 months earlier and then paying a king's ransom to get him, but I'm curious all the same.

Did Hunter opt for 6 months or 18? He kicked 4 on the weekend in the VFL

Dissagree.

The value of the pick is affected by how diluted the pool is.

Pick 1 this draft gets the best rated kid.

When trading that you are assess the quality of the kids you have access to. If the top 10 is diluted or drops off maybe you say no we will take one top 10 pick this but a F1st plus plus? You may elect not to trade down into a diluted pool and trade into a future less diluted draft. Or demand a quality player not a 2nd pick.

Spliting picks is more than just opportunities in the current draft.
Never argued or even mentioned that it does or doesn’t.

My point was it doesn’t matter if it’s pick 4 or 5 because there might be an academy bid in there somewhere.

You’re judging the trade on the available talent to you.

It doesn’t matter if there’s talent not available to you, or if you’re drafting the 4th best talent as opposed to the 5th best talent.

Goes missing? Try and play HF with the midfield getting smashed.

Thanks Ashton
Makes me laugh everytime this happens, it's always a brand new account with 1 post to their name. I really wish that somebody would have the foresight to make an account in advance and get some posts into it before doing this.

im not keen on Sanders from allies, gets the pill but his kick doesnt pass my coaching eye test, its to priddisy

The fact that you haven't watched any footage of him and have relied on reports means that these tags probably equally apply to you.

I’ve watched a lot of Moir and whilst I can’t comment on whether he’s disinterested, he certainly plays like it at times.

Been incredibly disappointing this season

one kick dosnt make a career. how many losses has he contributed to? but you know that;)
The original pick we had and down graded to get sheed went on Nathan freeman .

Cripps who went a couple of spots after sheed won a browlow last year but hasn't hardly played a final.

Sheed has gone from match winner to soy boy in the space of 5 years .

Still doesn't take away he won a GF with an amazing kick and was almost norm that day .

He has gone to shit though .

I am expecting to see Bailey Williams's contract extension announced soon. He is one of the very few highlights in 2023.

Pity Waterman missed out on the weekend, I think his real option to stay on the list is to turn himself into the Hurn replacement down back. With Maric recruited and a possible free drop with Georgiades, I see Jake as a better back pocket assuming he wants to play seniors and not rot in the WAFL. That said, he might just be given a 1 to 2 year extension as we are light on for talent and he is solid and Maric will need a couple of years to develop.

Petruccelle is a puzzling one - he pops up every now and again to say he might be OK but then has patches that frustrate me.

Nothing I have seen from Foley makes me want to keep him while Witherden has done enough to earn another contract, albeit on modest $$.

LEdwards is contracted for another year and looks depth, and in a competitive Eagles AFL team, he will likely be player 25 to 35 only.

Trew West and Clark are our only other mids aged between 21 and 27 and I cannot see any of the three staying on the list past September this year. That is one reason as to why Shuey might earn a 12 month modest extension. I would offer him $300k which is actually a pretty decent wage compared to his alternatives to football.

I'd rather West on the list than shuey
He's a club legend and keep him around the club for sure but give west a crack at a prolonged spot in the midfield

Highly unlikely

Agree.

But I want us to at least ask the question.

It's like the pretty girl at the dance ..... if you don't ask you never give yourself a chance and are guaranteed denial.

I would hope that the Club would be ballsy and not be defeatist .... make the request and if the AFL say NO, challenge why, as they have already set a precedent with North Melbourne ...... buck up and expose the VICCENTRIC nature of the AFL.

The Club that I followed in the early years of our history, had a big set of balls and dared to call the VFL on its shit, we have become far too much of an AFL "suck hole" in the last decade and have taken the numerous inequitable deals that they shove our way.

Like for instance (one of many by the way ) I would like to hear the rational from AFL house, as to why Brisbane has NEVER played West Coast at Optus Stadium.......yet every year the team that travels the most (yes us ) has to endure the longest road trip to Brisbane every ******* year.

We were once a Club that was never fight shy of a confrontation.

Very well said

Agree.

Looks like Josh Francou .

Very upright

Playing upright isn't always a bad thing If the player keeps their feet and keeps moving from contest to contest. Probably why he gets to so.many damn contests and makes himself available.

You need players who don't go to the ground easily and Sanders body shape seems to be a contributing factor.

I have no idea why.

Do you also play Gold Coast away?

Usually we end up playing Freo in WA and WC in QLD.

This year we have Freo as a double up team.

My guess is that you play GC at home and Lions away.

It would make more sense if we played home and away every second year.

There are Melbourne teams that we rarely play at the Gabba.

Hawthorn was one. Before Hodge moved up to the Gabba, we hadn’t played the Hawks at home in over a decade.
