It's time to hand out more awards.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my utmost pleasure to announce the winner of the prestigious Best Forward award for the Las Vegas Bears. This exceptional player has proven themselves worthy of this accolade through their remarkable talent, mesmerizing performances on the field, and their unique ability to ignore the calls from none other than Art Vandelay_.

Without further ado, I present to you the one and only Matera92!

With a remarkable tally of 24 goals and 24 behinds, Matera92's ability to find the goals is nothing short of electrifying. Even if the occasional shot may veer off course, leaving us wondering if they could use a compass, their unwavering determination and incredible talent have made them an integral part of our forward line. We consider ourselves fortunate to have Matera92 as a key player in our team.

But Matera92's skills extend beyond their goal-scoring prowess. Their impeccable fashion sense has become the talk of the town, turning heads both on and off the field. Whether it's their stylish haircuts, daring choices in boots, or trendy attire, Matera92 is a true fashion icon of the game.

While whispers of bribes may dance through the rumor mill, we assure you that Matera92's remarkable talent and mesmerizing performances have earned this prestigious accolade fair and square. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, showcasing their ability to dominate the forward line with flair, finesse, and a touch of sartorial elegance.

Please join me in congratulating Matera92 on winning the Best Forward award. Well done, mate! You deserve it! Or do you? ;)

Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to witness the grand unveiling of the most coveted award of the evening. I am absolutely thrilled to present the illustrious Leading Goalkicker Award to none other than the sensational Broken!

Now, let's be real here, 59 goals in a season is nothing to scoff at. It's a solid performance, but we won't go overboard and call it record breaking. However, for Broken, this award is an absolute triumph! Move aside Mobbs Medal, make way Frankston Rover Awards, and let's not forget that immortal status in the SFA, this leading goalkicker honour reigns supreme above them all!

Broken's uncanny ability to find the goals, despite occasionally taking detours to the grandstand hot dog stand, has left defenders scratching their heads in bewilderment. With every goal scored, Broken has etched his name in the glorious history of the Las Vegas Bears, creating a legacy that outshines all his other achievements.

So, let's raise our glasses high to Broken, the master of the forward line and the conqueror of goal-scoring greatness! Congratulations on this monumental feat, which towers over all others like a skyscraper in its own league. May your future seasons be filled with even more epic moments, and may your goal scoring exploits continue to inspire awe and ignite laughter. Cheers to you, Broken!

Our local derby against the Sin City Swamprats this week was a disaster from the very start. The Bears were firing on about one cylinder, which was misfiring like a rusty old jalopy, while the Swamprats were firing on all cylinders with the precision of a well-oiled machine. It only took the Rats 37 seconds to kick their first goal, and it felt like the Bears were chasing their tails for the rest of the game.

The Bears' defense was about as effective as a screen door on a submarine. The Swamprats ran circles around them, scoring goals left and right, while the Bears' forwards stumbled around like they had two left feet. They dropped marks, kicked points, and tackled each other like they were playing a game of musical chairs.

Despite the score remaining close throughout the game, it was clear that the Bears were not going to mount a comeback. In the end, they kicked four of the last five goals to make the score look respectable, but it was about as impressive as putting a band-aid on a broken leg.

It's hard to know who to blame for this debacle of a game, but the coach must take a fair bit of responsibility. Moving Cap the from the ruck early was a huge mistake, and moving ten players from their usual positions caused mass confusion amongst the team. If we have another poorly coached game like this, we might need to start advertising for a new coach in the local classifieds.

Well, despite our disastrous showing against the Sin City Swamprats, the good news is that we're still second on the ladder with the best percentage in the league. This week we're taking on the Demons at home, and we're going to need to bring our A-game. Or at least our B-game, let's not get too ambitious here. We need to stop playing like a bunch of kindergarteners chasing a butterfly and start playing like a real qooty team.

Both Millky95 & Supersuns had huge games with 28 touches each, Grin & Dingster chipped in with 24 touches each and RonnieRaven 22, after that it starts to becomes slim pickings and shows too much was left to too few.
Broken & Matera92 kicked 3 goals each and Jezmiester40 kicked 2 to be the Bears only multiple goalscorers for the day.

The Bears and the Demons clashed in a ferocious battle during Round 8, and it was all the more special as it marked MWPP's 200th game. The Bears got off to a great start, kicking the first goal of the game and getting us all excited for a potential landslide victory. But then, our accuracy went down the drain faster than a goldfish flushed down the toilet and the Demons took advantage of our inaccuracy, kicking 3 goals from their 4 shots and taking a 9 point lead at quarter time.

Luckily, the Bears weren't about to let their accuracy issues get them down. In the second quarter, they kicked 4.4 to the Demons' 2.2 and took a small 5 point lead into half time.

The third quarter saw the Demons start stronger and gain the lead back, but the Bears rookies CountryLad and RonnieRaven stepped up to the plate and kicked a goal each to get the lead back for the Bears. It was like watching a superhero movie, except with more mud and less spandex. Senor M finished the quarter strongly for the Bears, kicking the last 2 goals of the quarter to give them a 4 goal lead going into the last break.

The last quarter was all one-way traffic, with the Demons only having one shot on goal and the Bears dominating the field. They had a whopping 13 shots, but unfortunately, their accuracy was a little off, kicking only 4 goals. Still, it was enough to secure the win by 49 points, and it was a fantastic way to celebrate MWPP's 200th game.

Overall, it was a bit of a soggy affair with the rain pouring down like it was auditioning for a role in a movie about Noah's Ark. But that didn't stop us from putting on a show. Sure, our accuracy was about as reliable as a politician's promise, but we still managed to kick enough goals to take home the win. And let's be honest, who needs accuracy when you have raw talent like the Bears do.

The Bears put in a solid team effort this week, with Millky95 leading the way with an impressive 20 possessions, 5 free kicks, and a goal. Cap also played a vital role in the ruck with 13 hitouts, 14 possessions, 4 free kicks, and a goal to his name. The rookies, CountryLad and RonnieRaven, also held their own with 16 possessions and a goal each, while Shadow Man and Supersuns maintained their excellent form with 17 touches each.

When it came to goals, the forward pockets proved to be the biggest threats, with Sweets best Forward Pockets, Art Vandelay_ and Matera92 kicking 3 goals each. But it was Senor M who proved to be the game changer with his two vital goals in the third quarter that swung the momentum firmly in the Bears' favor. Sadly, for Broken, his kicking accuracy was more unpredictable than a drunken gymnast on a tightrope. Despite managing to slot in two goals, he sprayed the ball so far and wide that it seemed like he was attempting to hit the hot dog vendors instead of the goal. If his shots had been any wilder, the fans in the stands would have had to duck and cover. Nevertheless, the entire team gave a fantastic performance and secured a well-deserved victory.

tony I think it's high time we organised a charity wrestling match between Art Vandelay_ & Matera92 before next season begins to settle this once and for all and maybe even toughen them up a bit, whatcha reckon?
Jelly or mud wrestling? which do you think would be better.

Hardcore rules. The chance to hit him in the head with a trash can or a lead pipe cannot be missed
