Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and fellow bear enthusiasts, it is my great honor to stand before you tonight and induct a true icon into the illustrious Las Vegas Bears Hall of Fame. Please join me in celebrating the extraordinary career of Art Vandelay_.

Over the course of 15 remarkable seasons, Art has left an indelible mark on our beloved club. With an impressive tally of 256 games, he has solidified his place as one of the all-time greats, ranking third for the most games played in Bears history. From his early days as a doctor to his transformation into an importer/exporter, Art's journey has been as fascinating as it has been successful.

Throughout his illustrious career, Art has amassed an impressive collection of accolades. He has been crowned Bears' Best Midfielder not once, but twice, showcasing his unrivaled skill and strategic brilliance on the field. In Season 23, he proved himself to be the leading goalkicker, demonstrating his versatility and ability to dominate in multiple positions. And let us not forget his remarkable achievements in Season 21, where he claimed the coveted Best Rookie award, and Season 22, where he shone as the recipient of both the Best Club Player and Captain's Award during our glorious premiership campaign. Speaking of which, Art played an instrumental role in our one and only premiership triumph in Season 22, forever etching his name in Bears folklore.

Throughout his illustrious career, Art has not only showcased his exceptional skills on the field but has also been a trusted right-hand man to many captains. For numerous seasons, he has selflessly served in the Leadership Group, lending his expertise and playing a vital role in running the club and team thread. His dedication and commitment behind the scenes have been instrumental in shaping the Bears into the formidable force we are today.

But behind the accolades and triumphs, there lies a tale of rivalries and feuds that have captured our imaginations. While Art has had his fair share of clashes with Coach Walken over the seasons, their battles now buried deep in the Vegas desert, it is his ongoing rivalry with Matera92 that has truly captivated us. Art firmly believes that Matera has done everything in his power to hold him back, creating a simmering tension that has ignited fierce competition on and off the field. It is a rivalry that has added an extra layer of intensity to every clash and has left fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next chapter in their storied feud.

Now, as we gather here today, it is worth noting that Art probably never imagined receiving this esteemed accolade. But as fate would have it, Matera's cheque bounced this season, and as we all know, I don't work for ticks. So, it is with great pleasure that we honour Art Vandelay_ for his outstanding contributions to our beloved Las Vegas Bears.

Please join me in a thunderous round of applause as we celebrate the incredible career of Art Vandelay_. His skill, tenacity, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on our club and the hearts of Bears fans far and wide. Congratulations, Art, on this well-deserved induction into the Las Vegas Bears Hall of Fame. Your legacy will forever shine bright in the annals of Bears history.
Congrats Art Vandelay_ well deserved buddy!

Sorry all, got caught up with some incredible wallpaper down the hall.

Gero you bloody ripper!!! Profound condolences to Matera. I'm actually stoked to be inducted as well, which is surprising with the amount of sedatives I've taken. Nice to reminisce and it brings a little pride and a lot of gratitude! Awesome occasion so far, looking forward to tomorrow night, there truly is no club like ours. Go Bears!

AHhh the old two day BnF.

Once again I was a trend setter.
Me me me me me me me. If you once thought of others, especially passing to others, we might actually win qooty matches.
Aside from one horrible lapse in judgement it's been stella so far.
So you see it as well. Best forward was a serious error in judgment.

The Bears and the Demons clashed in a ferocious battle during Round 8, and it was all the more special as it marked MWPP's 200th game. The Bears got off to a great start, kicking the first goal of the game and getting us all excited for a potential landslide victory. But then, our accuracy went down the drain faster than a goldfish flushed down the toilet and the Demons took advantage of our inaccuracy, kicking 3 goals from their 4 shots and taking a 9 point lead at quarter time.

Luckily, the Bears weren't about to let their accuracy issues get them down. In the second quarter, they kicked 4.4 to the Demons' 2.2 and took a small 5 point lead into half time.

The third quarter saw the Demons start stronger and gain the lead back, but the Bears rookies CountryLad and RonnieRaven stepped up to the plate and kicked a goal each to get the lead back for the Bears. It was like watching a superhero movie, except with more mud and less spandex. Senor M finished the quarter strongly for the Bears, kicking the last 2 goals of the quarter to give them a 4 goal lead going into the last break.

The last quarter was all one-way traffic, with the Demons only having one shot on goal and the Bears dominating the field. They had a whopping 13 shots, but unfortunately, their accuracy was a little off, kicking only 4 goals. Still, it was enough to secure the win by 49 points, and it was a fantastic way to celebrate MWPP's 200th game.

Overall, it was a bit of a soggy affair with the rain pouring down like it was auditioning for a role in a movie about Noah's Ark. But that didn't stop us from putting on a show. Sure, our accuracy was about as reliable as a politician's promise, but we still managed to kick enough goals to take home the win. And let's be honest, who needs accuracy when you have raw talent like the Bears do.

The Bears put in a solid team effort this week, with Millky95 leading the way with an impressive 20 possessions, 5 free kicks, and a goal. Cap also played a vital role in the ruck with 13 hitouts, 14 possessions, 4 free kicks, and a goal to his name. The rookies, CountryLad and RonnieRaven, also held their own with 16 possessions and a goal each, while Shadow Man and Supersuns maintained their excellent form with 17 touches each.

When it came to goals, the forward pockets proved to be the biggest threats, with Sweets best Forward Pockets, Art Vandelay_ and Matera92 kicking 3 goals each. But it was Senor M who proved to be the game changer with his two vital goals in the third quarter that swung the momentum firmly in the Bears' favor. Sadly, for Broken, his kicking accuracy was more unpredictable than a drunken gymnast on a tightrope. Despite managing to slot in two goals, he sprayed the ball so far and wide that it seemed like he was attempting to hit the hot dog vendors instead of the goal. If his shots had been any wilder, the fans in the stands would have had to duck and cover. Nevertheless, the entire team gave a fantastic performance and secured a well-deserved victory.

Flag on the play. Matera92 4 votes 5 touches 3.2 Critically also no team oriented play with 0 handpasses.

My good self. 3 votes. 4 touches 3.1. One selfless handpass to a teammate.

So being an innaccurate shittruck with an extra behind is worth an extra vote.

* me. Matthew Richardson would kill it at Qooty.

You will probably find that the person who did the voting for Round 8 is now driving an Aston Martin.

Thanks for putting it all together tony . Loved looking back at the red carpet and the interview previews , and then the overview of the first part of the season. I’m looking forward to the rest of the count tonight which I should be around for if it is posted at a similar time or earlier.

Congratulations JoshWoodenSpoon and Art Vandelay_ . It has been several seasons since your names were first brought up, a sign that it wasn’t a matter of if, but when. Two household names of Vegas .

You'll have to wait a day while I organise a moving truck to pick up all my awards.
You have 1 hour or I’m turfing it all.
Or using them as paperweights.

Haven’t decided

Farewell Suns.png

Ladies and gentlemen, it is with a mix of sadness and admiration that we announce the retirement of our beloved teammate, Supersuns. Playing 89 games for the Bears and Roys and earned 1 All-SFA Jumper, Supersuns is loved by few and hated by many. I have no idea why.

Suns Punch.gif

Supersuns, how can we adequately describe your greatness? You were a force to be reckoned with, a supernova of talent...until your dodgy knees decided to join the party. Yes, those knees, the pesky troublemakers that prevented you from reaching superstardom. We can only imagine what you could have achieved if your knees had been as reliable as your determination.

Thank you for the memories, the thrilling moments, and the laughter. Farewell, dear Supersuns.

Here are some of Supersuns's greatest moments in the SFA.

Supersuns has already come out of retirement once. Hoping the next comeback isn’t too far away . Congrats on a quality career and credit where it’s due for stepping away rather than chasing the 100 game milestone . Hope you are back someday .

Round 9 was a special one for Art Vandelay_ as he celebrated his 250th game. Unfortunately, the rainy weather at the colosseum made things a bit slippery out there. And by "slippery", I mean we couldn't hold onto the ball to save our lives.

The first quarter showed some promise as we kicked 4 of the first 5 goals for the game, making the Wonders wonder why they even bothered showing up. But then we let them kick the next 5 goals, which made us wonder if we had accidentally put the other team's jerseys on.

It took us a whopping 35 minutes between goals before Broken finally kicked our first and only goal of the second quarter.

After halftime, the Bears came out swinging, kicking the first 4 goals of the quarter with CountryLad booting 2 goals to extend our lead out to 15 points. The crowd was going wild - or at least the small group of dedicated fans who braved the rain were. But then things went downhill faster than a skier on a buttered slope. We conceded the last 3 goals of the quarter, giving the Wonders the lead once again. It's like they didn't get the memo that we were supposed to win on Art's special day.

The opening 15 minutes of the fourth quarter were all one traffic for the Wonders, with them kicking 2.6 to our 1 point (which was rushed through by the Wonders). But their poor kicking kept us in the game.

Finally, after another 30-minute gap between goals, Broken managed to kick one for us. But the Wonders hit back quickly to snuff out any chance of a comeback, with the Wonders holding on for a 14 point win.

And speaking of things not going as planned, Art Vandelay's 250th game wasn't a good day for him. He didn't get a single touch and even conceded a free kick against him when Matera was lining up for a shot on goal. But hey, at least he didn't let Matera92 have a good day either, right?

Despite the soggy conditions, our team's main ball getters put in a strong effort during the game. RonnieRaven led the way with an impressive 24 possessions, followed closely by Supersuns with 20 possessions and a goal, Electronic_Renaissance with 18 possessions and a goal, Cap with 16 possessions and 7 hit outs, and Shadow Man with 16 possessions and a goal.

On the goal-scoring front, Broken proved to be a force to be reckoned with, slotting home an impressive 4 goals. CountryLad also put in a solid effort, kicking 3 goals to help keep our team in the game.

While the weather may have impacted the stats, our players put in a valiant effort and showed their determination and skill on the field.

ER Fun Fact: Las Vegas contains over 150,000 hotel rooms, the most of any city in the world. The first hotel and casino to open was The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino way back in 1906. It is still open today. Of course it has undergone many renovations since.

On a cloudy day in the "Stadium in the Sky," the Phoenix swooped into Las Vegas to take on the Bears. The first quarter was a close battle, with the Phoenix taking a narrow three point lead into the quarter-time break thanks to their impressive accuracy. The Bears' Broken kicked all three of the team's goals in the quarter, in a sign of things to come.

The second quarter saw the Phoenix really spread their wings and take off, kicking six goals to the Bears' two. Broken managed to sneak in one last goal for the Bears before the half-time whistle, but it was clear that the Phoenix were flying high.

In the third quarter, Broken played a lone hand in front of goals, kicking the first two goals of the half and bringing the margin back from 34 points late in the 2nd Quarter to just 13. He even managed to kick another two goals for the quarter, but unfortunately for the Bears, the Phoenix piled on eight goals of their own, leaving the Bears feeling like they were in the middle of a desert without any water.

The last quarter started much like the previous one, with the Phoenix continuing to rack up goals and extending their lead out to 55 points. The Bears tried to mount a small comeback to make the score more respectable, but it was too little too late. Despite having 29 shots on goal, the Bears were only able to kick 15 goals, whereas the Phoenix couldn't seem to miss, kicking an impressive 22 goals from just 27 shots.

Broken was a one-man show in front of goal, smashing through the Phoenix defense to score an impressive 10 goals for the game and now be leading a certain medal which I will not mention as every time I mention someone leading something it turns to s**t. Tommycash, in his first game back, proved he still has it by booting in 2 goals, while CountryLad, Muddiemoose and Electronic_Renaissance each contributed with a single goal.

The top contributors for the day were Shadow Man with a remarkable 27 touches, followed by Dingster with an impressive 25 touches. Supersuns made an impact with 24 touches and 9 marks, while Tommycash hustled with 23 touches and 5 tackles, and 2 goals. Electronic_Renaissance didn't fall behind with 21 touches, 6 hitouts, and a goal.
