Back at home for the first time in four weeks, there was a glimmer of hope that we could turn our losing streak around. However, it turned out to be just another game, another loss, this time to the Roys. The Roys wasted no time asserting their dominance, kicking two goals in the opening three minutes and putting us on the backfoot right from the start. We found ourselves constantly playing catch up, with every goal we scored met with an immediate response from the Roys.

There was a brief moment of excitement in the second quarter when we kicked five goals straight in just eight minutes, taking an 11 point lead. Chipmunk's debut goal for the club added to the momentum, and for a fleeting moment, it seemed like we might break our losing streak. However, within five minutes, the Roys took back the lead and went on to kick seven of the next eight goals, firmly seizing control of the game. Meanwhile, we struggled to capitalise on our opportunities, shooting ourselves in the foot by kicking five consecutive points.

Despite mounting a late charge and closing the gap to just three points early in the last quarter, the Roys once again asserted their dominance and secured a comfortable 19 point win.
As we reflect on this disappointing result, our focus now shifts to our upcoming clash against the Hawks. It's a chance for redemption, and we're determined to put on a strong performance in the Match of the Round as we look to bounce back from this setback.

Led Tasso Review.png

Alright, buckle up, because Led Tasso's got some things to say about our recent performance against the Roys. And let me tell you, it's not pretty.

First things first, is anyone on this team interested in not sucking at Qooty? Seriously, it's like watching a bunch of bear cubs trying to wrestle a grizzly. We need to shape up, and fast.

Now, Dingster, mate, I've got a bone to pick with you. Stop admiring yourself in the mirror and start making an impact on the field. One touch? That's less than I've had during halftime tea breaks!

And Matera92, if you're going around telling everyone "Matera92, 3 votes," you might want to actually earn those votes. Eight touches? I've seen more action in a game of bingo!

Tony, my friend, let's talk about your pace. Or should I say lack thereof? You move slower than a guy wearing concrete boots! It's time to hit the treadmill and shed a few pounds, because right now, you're about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

And Joshwoodenspoon, put down the spoons and start spooning the opposition full forward! We need defense, not a culinary experiment.

Test Tickle, let's see if we can get you more touches on the field than in the showers next game!

Lastly, Electronic_Renaissance, your name reflects something really cool, the Renaissance. It's all about rebirth and revitalisation, right? Well, how about you channel some of that Renaissance energy into your game and become a half decent player? Because right now, you're about as useful as a knife whilst eating soap.

Alright, my Bears, it's time to wake up and smell the honey. We've hit rock bottom, but there's nowhere to go from here but up. Let's turn this bus around and show everyone what we're made of!

4 frees against, huh?

2 : 16.59 {FB} - Tommycash has it. What can he do with it?.
2 : 17.03 {FB} - Holding the ball.
2 : 17.07 {FF} - Mooch looks downfield.
2 : 17.09 {FF} - Not a lot of daylight for Mooch to aim at.
2 : 17.13 {FF} - That's number 3 for Mooch.
Las Vegas Bears : 8.1.49
Roys FFC : 9.4.58
...

3 : 6.49 {lBP} - Tommycash looks downfield.
3 : 6.53 {lBP} - Dicky Fitzwell drags Tommycash down beautifully.
3 : 6.55 {FF} - Mooch has it.
3 : 7 {FF} - This should be a goal to Mooch.
3 : 7.04 {FF} - And Mooch doesn't disappoint us.
Las Vegas Bears : 9.3.57
Roys FFC : 11.5.71

Well, I couldn't count them but I sure sucked hard!

Bears vs Hawks Review

Looking to break a 4 game losing streak? 3? Idk it's too many, the bears travelled up the escalator to The Stadium In The Sky to take on the Hawks. Conditions were quite muddy which really suited some of our more rowdy team mates.
Untitled216_20240331155715.png

We started off with a bang, with Art Vandelay_ kicking a spectacular point...
Thanks to the early dominance of Electronic_Renaissance Cap and JoseMourinho the bears went into the first break 4 goals up.

In the second the Hawks started to peg back the margin. Some excellent individual plays by Chipmunk and I Dont Care were a real stand out of the qtr. Art had the ball on a string as if it were 1974 which kept the bears in it. Going into the main break up by 2pts, 26 to 24.
Untitled217_20240331160805.png

A classic RonnieRaven screamer kicked us off in the 3rd. So eager for the sizzler buffet Ronnie was taking no prisoners today. The Hawks extended their lead until cap steadied the ship with a crucial goal. Goals to Ronnie and Jose saw the bears retake the lead. Before the Hawks stole one back. At the end of the 3rd the Hawks lead the bears 8.1 49 to 7.3 45.
Untitled218_20240331162928.png

The 4th qtr started in controversy as porps miraculously kicked a goal between the 3rd and 4th qtr without the ball being bounced. Proving yet again the Sim gods hate the bears for assembling such a dominant list. The Wiley old veteran kane249 surged the ball forward trying to keep the bears in it. Dingster got knocked out by zoops and the Hawks started to kick away. A late concellation
goal by club testicle Test Tickle wasn't enough as the Hawks defeated the bears, 77 to 64.
A united front off the field is not translating to wins this season. Perhaps a team bonding session is in order.

Looks like the old Moorabbin Oval back in the day.

We lost again and have now hit a real rough patch, and I'll admit, my usual pep talks haven't been cutting it. Seems like nobody's buying what I'm selling anymore, and who can blame 'em? So, here's the deal.

We're ditching the whole 'believe' and 'teamwork makes the dream work' thing. Clearly, that's not our strong suit. Instead, we're going back to what we know best, indulging in those good ol' Las Vegas vices.

I'm talking gambling, I'm talking drinking, I'm talking whatever gets you in the zone. If that means showing up to training half drunk or high as a kite, then so be it. I want you to bring that Vegas energy onto the field next week.

We've got to break this losing streak, and if playing like a bunch of degenerates or selfish jerks is what it takes, then that's what we're going to do. We're tossing out belief and teamwork, and now it's every Bear for themselves from now on. Show up your teammate and make him look like a loser.

But mark my words, my Bears, we're going to turn this around. And if it takes a little sinning or a whole lot of it to get there, then sign me up. Let's show the league what we're made of next week. Vegas style.

The Bears traveled to Supersuns Island to face the formidable Dragons. We started well with Dingster scoring the opening goal, followed by a point from RonnieRaven. However, the Dragons quickly took control, kicking the next five goals to race to a 27-point lead. As the quarter was drawing to a close, Shadow Man emerged from the shadows like a stealthy ninja to kick a goal for the Bears, cutting the margin to 21 points at quarter time.

The start of the second quarter saw a spirited response from the Bears, with JoshWoodenSpoon and Tandy each kicking a goal within the first two minutes. Yet, despite their efforts, the Dragons continued to press, extending their lead to 43 points with five consecutive goals. But just when defeat seemed inevitable, Shadow Man emerged from the shadows once more, bolstering the Bears' spirits with a timely goal. JoseMourinho followed suit, narrowing the gap to 29 points by halftime.

With Ted Lasso's job hanging by a thread and his motivational speeches feeling as effective as a soggy newspaper, Ted resorted to Plan B: Colombian marching powder. Surprisingly, it worked like a charm! Cap, who hadn't had a touch up until halftime, turned into a goal kicking machine, helping turn the tide of the game in the Bears' favuor. He kicked five goals in the quarter, while Senor M contributed with two goals, and RonnieRaven chipped in for a goal. The Bears dominated the quarter with an astonishing eight goals to nil, seizing a 22 point lead heading into the final quarter.

But the Bears weren't satisfied with just a lead, they were hungry for victory. Cap, still high from his third quarter heroics or more likely something else, continued his rampage with two more goals early in the fourth quarter. Senor M, Shadow Man, JoseMourinho, and Dingster added to the onslaught, as Test Tickle put the icing on the cake with a well deserved goal after dominating the Dragons all game. The Dragons managed to kick the last goal of the game, but it was as impactful as a fly hitting a windshield. The Bears emerged winners, decimating the Dragons with an incredible 14 goals to 1 in the second half.

The Bears won by 53 points, a 96 point turnaround after the Bears trailed by 43 deep into the second quarter before Shadow Man started a 16 goal run by the Bears. This win puts us back in the top 8 with a healthy percentage. We have the bye this week to rest and recuperate after our comeback victory.

Rd 10 Scorecard.png

A great team effort lead to this weeks Victory, but their was some really special efforts from a few of the team this week.

Testy 32 possession, 17 hitout, 1 goal.
Tandy 27 possessions, 1 goal
Ronnieraven 24 possessions, 1 goal

Goals: Cap 7, Senor M 3, Dingster 2, JoseMourinho 2, Shadow Man 2, Joshwoodenspoon 1, RonnieRaven 1, Tandy 1, Test Tickle 1.

Alright, my magnificent Bears, gather 'round for a little post game chat. What a wild ride we had out there! I'll be the first to admit, when we were staring down a 43 point deficit, I started thinking about which hole I'd be hibernating in for the rest of my days. But you know what? You all showed me something truly special.

That comeback was nothing short of miraculous. Sixteen goals in a row? That's the stuff of legends! And let's not forget about our defense, holding the Dragons to just one measly goal in the 2nd half. Outstanding effort, lads!

Now, about our unconventional training methods. It seems our little mix of gambling, boozing, and whatever else you lot got up to instead of hitting the training track really paid off, didn't it? Maybe we've stumbled upon a winning formula here!

So, my Bears, enjoy this well deserved bye week. Take some time to rest, recuperate, and maybe even indulge in a few more of those Las Vegas vices. You've earned it! But remember, when we come back, it's back to business. We've got a season to finish and a flag to win.

Alright, my magnificent Bears, gather 'round for a little post game chat. What a wild ride we had out there! I'll be the first to admit, when we were staring down a 43 point deficit, I started thinking about which hole I'd be hibernating in for the rest of my days. But you know what? Don't kid yourself. This result was player driven.

Player driven, you say? Well, I guess that makes me the guy in the backseat shouting directions! But hey, you all handled the wheel like pros out there, weaving through tackles and dodging dragons like it was rush hour traffic. Next game, let's make sure not to crash, alright? Keep up the great work, team!

Stats Update Round 10 New
stat corner.png

Since the last stats update, we have been performing well in terms of posting, averaging 19 posters per week. Over the last 4 weeks, a different person has led the posting, showing that we don't rely on any one individual. Chipmunk has continued his run of 32 posts a week. Is it a coincidence or just plain luck?

Pulled Off List

It seems that last weekend, Ted decided he wanted to pull off most of the team, making 12 changes, with 5 players being pulled off twice. Ted must enjoy Chipmunk's company, as poor Chip has been subbed off 7 times in our 10 matches, while Joshwoodenspoon and Rookiepick have been pulled off 6 times each. It's interesting to note that in the 2 games where Ted made mass changes during the game, we won. Shadow Man has yet to be pulled off in 10 games.

I have to say, when I found a note in my locker from the coach telling me he was going to pull me off twice during the match...I thought our relationship had finally taken that next step.

I feel like as a FF , you guys should really be kicking to me more... not even 1 mark a game 😬
I think it's all the beer and drugs we've consumed during the week taking effect. Every time I look for you, I see four of you and have no idea which one to kick to.
