That tells you completely * all. 16,000 - 40,000 which one is it. That is a very big different number.
Mate don’t shoot the messenger.
In any case, I was responding to an AFL Member query.

To be fair when people in lower non guaranteed category's are getting good seats and these people are left with standing room you know the system is wrong.
There’s been 1-2 rumoured occasions that may have occurred, but I’m yet to see anything solid to back them up. With the amount of members I’d except much more talk/examples if that were true, so I’m inclined to believe it isn’t.

That said, you also have to factor in group bookings. Regardless of the event it’s always easier to to 1 ticket than 5-8 together.

My dig is at the AFL that lacks any transparency. That list couldn't be anymore vague if you tried.

It's like saying I can definitely get you a ticket or I might not be able too. Basically giving you 2 opposite answers.

Here’s the allocations…View attachment 1812224

Here’s the full ticketing policy…

Thanks. That’s really helpful.

Way I see it, 30,000 gold members, Collingwood had 7,000 as of last year.
And we get a min of 13,000 seats allocated for AFL members.

Also the expected influx of Collingwood members from 2010, 2011 join ups are still on the waiting list so the numbers shouldn’t have changed much from last year.

Brisbane won’t have many Gold Members.

Not all Collingwood gold members can and will attend, for various reasons.

So all AFL gold members of Collingwood or Brisbane club support can go if they want to.

I’m not a club member, I’m an AFL gold member with club support.

I must say, the club membership set up seems pretty farcical to me. It’s too random.

I would think those higher grade memberships should be getting priority seating. Seems bizarre how random it is.

So am I. And everything we have seen over the last 2 years is seating in the AFL members has been eaten away. Large percentage of undercover seating on M and even bays M16 are now taken by corporate tickets for home & away games.

I have always had the highest memberships at Collingwood. Premier, Centenary member, Millennium member, Legend, Club 5 and was Inner Sanctum as well. I couldn’t give a rats where my tickets are. Just appreciate we are going to see our beloved Pies have a chance at a flag. I would sit on the light tower if it meant seeing it.

The whole ticketing system is a sham.
The lotto approach is completely unfair to the loyal supporter.
Loyalty should be rewarded ie length of membership and ideally number of games attended, (probably too hard).

Stupid system. They should make it, P1 should allocate Level 1/2 first, then whatever is left over goes to the rest
Reading through this thread it seems there were waves of pending transactions with each batch moving to a lower ticketing category. Seems they allocated category 1 first, category 2 second etc.

Not sure why the club would restrict P1 guarantees to category 1 & 2 seating, when they can offer P1 guarantees to more members by using more of the club’s ticket allocation. I’d much rather be guaranteed a lesser seat or even standing than not having a guarantee at all.

Have to look at it as the min worst case.
And that is way to vague to take seriously. That list is a big **** you from the AFL. They know exactly how the are allocating tickets that just don't want fans to know how much they are being screwed over the corporate dollar.

Yes but even still there are 13000 min available for AFL members.

So again, look at the min. It’s worst case. It’s that or better. I’m only considering AFL Members will have 13,000 seat. It may be 18,000. But work on the assumption it’s 13,000.
That’s still enough for all competing club support to get a seat.

I'm ultimate Legends t7hink that what it's called. The top category.
With my tickets for GF received Cat 6. Which is top deck up the back.
Not happy but happy to be there and pies to win the big one
I was in row X the other night, perfectly fine and great view of the whole ground.
I always sit level 4 though so I’m used to it.

Totally agree with this.
In the early 2000s the MCC invited my dad into the committee room two years running after he was the only member that attended every game at the MCG.
They were able to track his attendance back then. Surely now days, we can definitely see who has held memberships longest in addition to who attends games.
