Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

Im in the dont want ZZ camp myself. Cant see him getting a game for a long time. Now is the draft for some mids and outside runners who can hopefiully push to the wing and not just be generic HBF
Massive agree on this. We are in such desperate need of outside mids. Both grand finalists had elite outside mids this year and we currently have zero.

We played mugby back in Kalgoorlie on the oval that was 50/50 couch grass and double-gees. No pristine ovals like the pussy metro boys played on.

After recess and lunch we'd be picking out the double-gee splinters from our heads after the pile-ons. Kalg was a bit rough back in the 80's.

Double-gees, oh flashback - jeez, they hurt. Good ol' Kal.

1) Reid
28) Sanchez (unfortunately best we can get here)
37) Hastie
49) O'Driscoll if available if not McAuliffe

Ideally need to trade a pick into this year to target another fast outside mid (Edwards / Freijah / O'Driscoll)

Collard has Jarrod Cameron written all over him. Do not want to draft unless it's a match post pick 40 and even then would prefer as a rookie.

Also in regards to potential downgrading pick 1, our lack of elite midfield prospects both inside and primarily outside are why i wanted to split.

If north were keen I would do 1,37 and future second for 2,15 & future first and secure McKercher. I still think Murphy is on the board at that point btw.

IMHO there is no pure midfield type outside McKercher worth a top 5 pick in this draft, only sanders worth a top 10 this year and McKercher was a fair way behind where next years top midfield propspects were this time last year. So the addition of two top 2 picks next year would be astounding and allow us to really finish off the midfield talent basket. In my opinion of the mids only McKercher would get picked in the top 10 overall draft next year and only Sanders in the overall top 20.

Draft talls this year and the key mids next year. The thing with highly talented mids is that if they have a balanced game even if they don't become inside stars there is always a spot for them at HB or similar, usually at an elite level.

Take Murphy, Zakostelsky and Goad with the other picks in this years draft.

So McKercher, Murphy, Zakostelsky, Goad this year

Two top 5 picks next year. Even if they are the 'suppsoedly' lower ranked players in Smith and Smillie out of that group give me that combination every day over Harley Reid + 1 mid worth drafting.

As I'm sure it will shock no-one, barcode was also very popular in Mandurah when i was growing up.

Gets you ready for king hitting on the foreshore later in life I guess.

The other one we used to do in Mandurah is you'd hold out your overturned forearm and the other person would slap it with their index and middle fingers. You go back and forth until one party quits. The welts youd get from that were surprisingly brutal.

Secret tactic was to try and get the elbow crease.

See that in Collard too.

That North trade is never going to happen and is somehow a lose/lose deal. No way North wanna give up future 1st and McKercher is a worse pickup then Reid risk wise

Every day I thank god that you don’t work for our club.

We really need to get three best 22 players from this draft, so with our limited picks Collard seems too big of a risk to use our second pick on...

I'm very bullish on Bazzo, and think drafting both Murphy and ZZ this year would be unnecessary.

The point he was making with Sheezel and Daicos is, despite them starting their careers on a back flank, they were not drafted as HBFs and are expected to ultimately end up in other areas of the ground where they can really dictate results of games and become top 10 players in comp - as Daicos has already done in the midfield. Obviously with the implication that Curtin is less likely to do the same.
Dacios is already a top 10 player in the competition in some people’s eyes. I’m sure both will play in different roles at some point in there careers as Curtin may too. He’s shown good versatility at 18s level playing across all parts of the ground.

If I had of said Sheezle would be a star across half back and win the rising star playing that position in here 12 months ago I would have gotten laughed out of this thread. We won’t know exactly what he ( Curtin) is capable of till he’s playing at AFL level and at the moment we are simply guessing.

I have no problem if a poster thinks he can’t make it as a midfielder at AFL level, I have no problem if posters in here don’t want Curtin as a recruit, the problem I have is that the poster I’ve called out and a few others are using reasons for why Curtin shouldn’t be a top draftee that simply aren’t true or reasons that don’t stack as I pointed out in the above posts.

Settle down Dan

We were in Subi's zone and one year their U14's came to town to play a combined Goldfields side. They decided to play the game down the road in Coolgardie without checking out the ground first.

We all rocked up in the morning and the oval was completely gravel but covered in double-gees and tumbleweeds. Not a blade of grass on it, only prickles. Like a wild west movie.

The dads had to get out there for about half an hour before the game and mow the tumbleweeds in.

Perth pussies wouldn't go near the ball when the game started.

That was in 1985 and pretty sure they have never sent a junior's team back to Kalg.
