Paranoia over go home factor particularly with western Australian's is ridiculous. If Curtin is there you take him. If he wants to leave in the future then you probably get more value for him anyway. The thing is if he wants to leave in the future, I would be more worried about the clubs ability to retain players. To be honest I doubt he slides to Melbourne anyway.

So Curtin is far ahead on the votes. Let's assume he does slide past Nth, WB, and Haw to us at 6; WCE offer us F1 and 23 for him.

Do we take Curtin regardless? I don't know enough about next years prospects to decide.

It all depends on how you rate Curtin.

Initially I was supportive of the idea but having thought about it a bit more I would just take Curtin.

I hate this argument. The history of the pick itself has absolutely no relevance. There would have been good players available to be picked around the mark in every single one of those years.

It's like saying you'd rather have pick 13 than pick 1 because historically it's been more reliable or something.

I just showed a 21 year history of pick 6's with an 80% bust rate. All from clubs with full time recruiting teams. Why is this year different?

No. I haven't been saying that. I personally don't see it with Curtin or Sanders but I could absolutely be wrong and I'll always back in full timer recruiting teams. So I've never say 'we must take ...insert name'. It's such a lottery.

One thing I’ll say about Curtin is that irrespective of his footballing ability, he is going to be one big unit.

Has a huge frame and really long arm span. At 197cm and potentially still growing, after some years in the gym he’s going to be a very big boy.

I don't think there is a Curtin obsession, there is a consensus amongst the experts that he is one of the best draft picks. Makes sense that most people would want Curtin if he slipped through to pick six.

To me trading a certain pick 6 for a future f1 pick which is unknown and could end up pick 6 regardless (or higher) doesn't make any sense. Just feels like we've wasted time.
