The irony of course being, that this sort of behaviour is common place among the upper levels of management of companies who sponsor football.
Hypocrisy abounds.

Clubs don't normally do it though, they still have to explain it to the board and sponsors, the fans and probably telling in this case, in the modern era, their AFLW contingent. What is an example of a club doing this and pulling it off? Ben Cousins was out for two years and Mike Sheahan has him as a top 50 all time player (and even then it wasn't anything special, his Richmond run). Tarryn is a wildly talented, sometimes brilliant but definitely inconsistent footballer.
I'm more on the side with The Warlord that it's going to take two years of incredibly well behaved state league footy to even get considered. The optics in 2024 don't assist Tarryn at all, nobody needs to be seen to be reforming an abuser (Indigenous or no). Some will despise this as their prerogative but the female voice in the AFL has never been stronger. The risk far exceeds the reward for 2025 at the very least.
You’re right, but as of a few days ago he was training with his pt.What deal is that? He's beyond damaged goods at this stage
We are paying him out, guessing most of it has been front loaded when we had to pay the min of the cap, so not sure it’s worth holding him on when we could delist him and pick a replacement in the Mid season Draft (not that it’s anywhere equal)…if thats the case so be it, but we shouldnt be giving him away until no offers are made.

I think his manager is likely part of the problem. Seems more likely to blow smoke up TT’s arse rather than giving him a decent kick in the arse when it’s been warranted.Perhaps his manager could finally do something and help him in this area, his silence throughout this whole saga speaks volumes.

AFLW PR and the natural progression of society into taking DV more seriously imo means less scope for this outcome than there would've been, say, ten or fifteen years ago. You’re right, but as of a few days ago he was training with his pt.
So it suggests this guy is probably keeping fit for 2024 or 2025. Probably has his eyes on a 25 comeback.
If the afl just let him return to the fold in 2025 they’ve essentially assisted in the removal of a top draft pick and said ‘oh well north’ ..campaigners
Pluck an instance from the sea, how many women are killed by men each in Australia?

Yeah my thoughts too, and just receiving Sonja’s email - I get it.AFLW PR and the natural progression of society into taking DV more seriously imo means less scope for this outcome than there would've been, say, ten or fifteen years ago.
I also think the club have had input on this and have said enough is enough. They could potentially have tried to keep him (if they had no shame) so how much can we really complain if someone else picks him up. I hope no one does but it's far from out of the question
I guess a lot of people don't realise how destructive things like this can be Z, especially if the person has shown danger signs from previous events. In the case of a lot of other players and people with public profiles, we see organisations come onto news and current affairs programs stating that they will "wrap their arms around" him or her (mostly him as it happens). I used to think that was a bit of palaver but it really means to provide some stability and assistance to minimise the harm somebody might do to themselves or others when they feel that their world has caved in.Much as I think he's a w***er, I hope he isn't spiralling. I think we have enough evidence that he doesn't take adversity that well
Move to past players section. That’s it folks it’s over for TT. Mods for the sake of our collective dignity can you please close this thread![]()
