Been basically this way for years. Used to enjoy posting here but seems like a lot of places on the internet people with too much time on their hands can't have a proper discussion without attacking a posters team or continuing on some prior argument. Yet when in person I've had some great discussions about the game with United, Arsenal and Spurs fans, funny that.
Yep, its so much different to chatting about footy to a person face to face.

Too many with too many triggers(certain posters or clubs) on here.

Thank **** Liverpool won. My dislike for them has changed a lot and I'd rather see them than City win. Plus it keeps those flogs Man U away from the pack which is always a positive. TBH I don't know what to make of City-Man U on form City should do it but it is a derby and Man U have got some good results of their rivals in recent times. That 2021 game at The Etihad they prevailed 2-0 and I think they beat them 3-1 or 3-2 last season at Old Trafford where Rashford starred. Man U are huge odds I'm going to lay off on them as I have City in a multi. I'd rather settle for less then be a greedy campaigner.

Winners are grinners and losers can please themselves.

Let's all have a reasoned discussion about Chelsea's season then

Wow, what a crazy end to the game.

Weird moment to blow the whistle, but also Reals reaction is way over the line.

It was crazy watching that live, I heard the whistle through the TV speakers so immediately knew that the RM players were about to blow a gasket lol. Shitty reaction at the end from RM’s players all told.

The Forest/Liverpool match needed the referee from the Valencia/Real Madrid game.

Bellingham got red carded in the aftermath.

Referee gave the extra time for the corner, the ball came out and the referee brings his whistle to his mouth about 3 seconds before the next cross comes in. Seems like the referee played it right, it’s not an unlimited extra time if youre attacking, they had one go but you can’t expect 2 and 3 and 4 attempts once time has run out surely?

During injury time there was a VAR/ref checking the monitor check for a penalty shout. That took close to 3 minutes to get through. I would say if the ref kept time properly the match had at least another minute to play. So I can see why RM would feel hard done by. I am sure they will still win the league so it’s probably not that important anyway.

You wouldn't want to have the remote in your hand if you were a Real supporter. Straight through the TV

Ollie Watkins has 16 goals and 10 assists.
More goal involvements than any other player in the league. Ahead of Haaland, Salah, Saka, Son.

YET Southgate will still choose Rashford, Henderson, Phillips etc etc.
England are going to squander another golden generation while they have Southgate in charge.
That said Watkins isn't competing for a spot with Henderson, Phillips or Saka, he is competing with Kane who has 31 goals and 8 assists.

Of course Real would be pissed. Especially with all that adrenaline and blood pumping. Heart rate would be jacked from the game and the moment.

They care. If you don't in that moment, stick to knitting.

There's nothing in the laws of the game that says the referee cannot blow the full time whistle at any time.

Generally though in most referee training it is taught that an attacking phase should be allowed to run its course if there's a reasonable chance of a goal being scored before blowing up.

Take out penalties and it’s not even close
Watkins is on 26, ahead of Salah 20, Haaland / Son 19, Nunez / Bowen 17, Saka / Solanke 16

For how long though, it can’t be infinite.
Seems like he gave some time for the preceding corner, and then called time when that was defended.

once the phase is over. Ie the ball is cleared, or goes out of play. Not long at the end of the game.

It was just under a 2 minute check, so you add about a minute and a half, as not the entire time of every stoppage is considered extra time just the extra time for the decision check. For example, the Real goal kick after the final Valencia chance took 35 seconds to get back into play.

And yes, they will win the league still and I hope so, Man City posing as Girona can’t win everything.

And it's unsurprising that all years later you still get them wrong - again.

I haven't got anything wrong. I haven't seen the incident.

But the idea that a decision in the first half automatically makes a decision in the second half a good one is a new rule.

So if Bellingham’s header was defended for a corner, you give them more time? And a subsequent one after that?

No, just let the current attacking phase run its course. In that instance as soon as the ball was cleared or out of play. That's the advice given to referees. A corner is the next phase of play.

Salah's missed a chunk, Haaland's missed a chunk, Nunez has been injured too.

It's not the same sample size.

Watkins has been excellent though.
