You complain about Adelaide/Hawthorn etc. logos being simple and 'cartoony' and try to lump it in with this new Tasmania logo which is the complete polar opposite of that - complex and indistinct. The logo looks similar to the Adelaide, Hawks, North, Bulldogs etc logos.
It's all generic American style cartoon rubbish that looks like it was drawn by 6 year olds.
If a logo can be drawn by a 6-year-old then I'd argue it's a great logo. If it's distinct and impressionable enough for a child who lacks full motor capabilities to draw then that's an incredible work of branding.
Point to me a logo from over the years that isn't 'cartoony' besides maybe the Carlton monogram and you'll probably notice logos have actually gotten less cartoony over the years and more professional/serious compared to that of the VFL emblems of the 80s.
Anyway I'm not really trying to have a go at your personally but I just see so many people who love to complain about logos being too cartoony or 'American' yet wouldn't have the slightest clue of what they want in a logo.
Why is it even bad for logos to look American anyway? NBA and NFL has some of the most iconic, timeless and recognisable logos of all time - Lakers, Raiders, Celtics, Packers, Yankees and the list goes on. American logos should be the golden standard of logo design.
