I think you’re underplaying how much effect Tasmania coming in could have on some clubs it’s not just draft picks either, north Melbourne for example probably there best young player mckercher will be the number 1 target for the Tasmanian team something like that if it happened would be a huge loss for a developing club like north

Yeah everyone moves back to Tassie once they experience the mainland! I reckon we'll be ok.

What’s a fair deal for pick 2? I suspect North have come out and said this straight after the Saints compensation news because North wants the two top 10 Saints picks.

Carl pick 12, F1 be enough?
Port still wants to challenge and unless they can use your picks to trade in a player, he won't be going anywhere.

Depends if we approach Carlton, but I suspect not in that case. If I had to guess, we are pushing for the saints picks as you suggest.
No because it's virtually equal points value. Needs a premium added.
A top 10-ish pick and f1 would normally be enough. But seem it appears a fairly even draft, 2 might not be as valuable as in previous drafts.

I think perhaps try to trade 12,2025r3 to gws for 15,16.
Then trade 15,2025r2,owies for Houston,2025r3.
So Carlton overall lose 12,owies,2025r2 for Houston,16.
Port probably want more though.
Apparently Port not particularly interested in Owies and we're not keen enough on Houston to do it with the picks they want

If Houston was playing any big Vic club they would be asking for 2 1st.
But because he plays for Port he is worth less

Not that I support a big Melbourne Club, but you are trading a soon to be 28 year old player. If he was 23 or 24, sure, you'd be right. You're basically saying 19 year old JHFF was worth the same as Houston in a round about way. He's worth double - you know this and your club benefited greatly on the back of tapping up a former number 1 pick but valuing him as a soon to be 28 year old half back 2x AA flanker. It's mildly amusing, I must say.

Are Pies just going after whoever is available? They don't really have a clear strategy do they. Probably to do with a lack of football boss for 12 months.

I'd be slightly worried if I was a Pies supporter. They've blown their chance to draft until after Tassie are finished getting all their picks.
