Joe's retirement has left a hole in premiership team. So any forwards out there that wants a walk-up start in successful team a la Tom Lynch in 2019 ? You tend to look at GWS/ Gold Coast ( show case clubs ) or disaffected / injured players from Adelaide / Perth. Or those terrible talls at Sydney ? Time to get busy and sow a few seeds.

Jack Payne' s feet would not handle ruck duties.

Rayner was sub par playing as a pseudo tall. Has found the sweet spot in the position he plays now.

Logan Morris is a potential AA as the 3rd tall, playing off of 2 tall targets.

In our current structure, we have found the best mix for our players skillsets.

Henry Smith is a more than capable ruckman, and O is getting to the point in his career he needs the support. He is more than capable of what we need up forward - does not need to be a star, just do his job - and let the others play off of him.

Let him grow into the role is by far the best option we have. By next September there is a potential premiership team running out for the first bounce.

Playing taller is only an advantage when you're opponent is a small. A small playing tall against a tall that plays tall doesn't work

If the ball is bombed blindly on their head then yeah sure. If the tall defender struggles to play on a smaller agile forward then you can structure your game plan accordingly. Just think we have a very versatile & dangerous forward setup with or without Joe. I'd be happy with either Fort or Smith rotating with Big O.

If the Giants land Jake Stringer maybe Jake Riccardi would be interested in getting out... we would find it hard to get the trade done though.

What would he add that we don't currently have in our forwards?
Sexual mastery
Honestly, if we need a forward so bad to maintain structure, then put Lloyd in. If we're just looking for a tall body that can ruck/compete, put in Fort.
We're trying to win a flag next year not get out of the bottom 4 we need an A grade key forward.

What is their forward depth. Is he next inline if Hogan was to be injured ?
Their key/3rd tall forwards from what I can tell are Jesse Hogan, Aaron Cadman, Jake Riccardi, Wade Derksen, Lachlan Keeffe. If Stringer comes IMO he plays 3rd tall behind Cadman and Hogan leaving Riccardi as only depth albeit yes probably next in line if an injury pops up.

How do Geelong people have intel about a Carlton player?
They don't. The guy is a complete nuff who also reckons Butters Brayshaw and Reid will be requesting trades to geelong over the next 2 years and that they've already got the farm deals lined up for them.

Not saying TDK to the Lions won't happen, but that guy's got the worst track record I've ever seen from an 'ITK'

So you're saying there's a chance.......

Rewatching Ryan Lester’s 200th to see what Smith has got. Gonna revisit Harris’ 200th as well as the Dog’s game as well since they were some of my favourites for the season as well.

I think the dogs game was my favourite. Always get worried against them for some reason and to put 40+ points on them was just gold.

Not sure why Lester will fall off a cliff, I wasn't his biggest fan until the last 2 years but his game isn't built in blinding speed or strength.

He is a very smart player who does 99% of what he needs to be well including reading the play which doesn't diminish with age.

The Lester zorko combination is a super smart footy teamup and a big plus for on field performance. Don't see it ending anytime soon.

I imagine every family get together ends up with them talking footy, so when they play the are basically inside each others minds.

It's a combination to rival the daicos and what we expect the ashcroft brothers will achieve.

He’d be good on the g.

Interesting player to assess their value. Clearly not proven at afl level but was a gf emergency which says you are okay.

Dees have 5, 28, 40, 49, 54, 65

49 has 287 points

40 has 429, perhaps we’d give back our future third for 40 and 65 (90 points) but i am probably being too ambitious?

Sharpo going nowhereO IMO. Pick5 minimum

40 does feel like a bit much, but given a bunch of picks are going to be eaten up by bidding maybe melbourne don't care too much about trading it given 49 probably comes in a few picks on draft night?
