The ccj trade was crap but bending over backwards in taz going across to protect tiggers chom compo was plain sickening. Sometimes i wonder if our staff even realise they are part of a competition?

CCJ is an unco drunken giraffe.

The fact we identified him as a target was bad enough but using pick 21 or whatever it was was truly shocking.

At the time some people said that we got picks back and they needed to be taken into account. I hated this way of thinking. And yet……. Your pick 42 came

Something like F1,62 for 16,37,2025r2?

I'd have thought the below would work for us:
NMFC 62 (55-59) + 2025 R1(1-4), R2 (19-23), R3(37-41) to GWS for 15,16,20, 2025R2(32-36)?

We'd have to pay out a few blokes as we don't have enough list spots as it stands!

By itself, it doesn't really make much sense for us. We really need to split pick 2 as part of any trade like this.
If we combined it with a trade with St Kilda like 2 < 7, F1 then it could work.

For us 2, 62, F1< 7, 16, 37, F1 (StK), F2 (GWS)

I would hope the club would only take a deal that makes a modicum of sense for us and dramatically undervaluing your prized f1 isn’t that.

At 15 and 16 we are still undervaluing pick 3 2025 but we take that on the chin. If you needed to swap f2’s on top of this I’d consider it.

Personally I think a different combo that sees us not get 15 and 16 wouod hopefully not be considered.

Can you explain the corner? We can just draft pick 2. We don't need to trade. 9 top 30 picks over 3 drafts is enough.

I think it's the iffy list balance thing that people take issue with. Pick 2 is hardly a burden, and in theory 9 over 3 years should be more than enough BUT:

We're STILL relying on bargain basement recruits/mid-season picks/natural medium forwards to play the role of small forwards, and

We STILL have no reliable second key forward. I want Comben forward and Corr/Logue to handle stuff down back, but even he isn't reliable, injury-wise, and the alternatives are Darling, Pink and Teakle, all of whom have colossal limitations.

That is an indictment on Brady and the list management team. So even though I like the fact that Daniel's arrival pushes McKercher up the ground, I can see the annoyance at picking up a 28 year old midget with a pick that may have been able to be used on a key forward

We trade 2 and next years first for Richmonds 6,11 and their 2nd round from next year. Thoughts ?. Other than that I want to keep 2 and next years first . I doubt the Saints will give us 7 and 8 for 2.

Yes it's bias because I'm angling for 6&10 for our #3. Richmond motivation is to get 1,2&3.

Would be shocked if Blues traded out. It appears you moved up to target speedy mid. Apparently Blues love FOS but know he may not be available.

North will only move back a couple of spots according to Brady if we do trade back. One thing he does is stay consistent with what he says when being definitive. I think there are trade options with Melbourne who may want to move up for FOS aswell. Either way a trade wont happen until the night and will be dependent on what Tigers do.

A lot of posters suggesting any trade for pick 2 won't happen until the night, I find this unlikely. Live trades like this are rare. I'm not sure why this year would be so different unless people think teams would trade up for FOS but not Lalor (or the other way around).

The key forwards still available at pick 25, which will be at least pick 29, will be quite limited I suspect. Time will tell.

We won’t offload top tier picks for pittance unless the price is right.

We have Curtis, RHJ, Konstanty, Payne and Harvey who play small forward roles.

We have Comben, Dawson and Maley who are developing into KPP roles. We'd like another one but not to the point that we need to make bad trades.

I'd draft a KPP at pick 2 before I would make a bad trade.

Curtis is a hybrid small/medium. He doesn't mind roving but his pressure is sporadic. His i50 tackle numbers look like that because literally no one else in our f50 tackles. The others are totally unproven. RHJ has a glimmer, but that's it. There's a bit on Konstanty's shoulders there, and he was about to be delisted after failing to crack a(n albeit good) senior team in two years, so my hopes for him are not limitless, though I think he'll bring a defensive edge.

Dawson is a defender, and I think anyone who knows anything can see that. Maley, who knows, he apparently still needs to round out aspects of his game. If he can, we'll be in a good spot.

And I know you don't need a top 10 pick in all positions, but surely it makes sense to give yourself the best possible shot at filling your list needs. And what better way to do that, when anchored to the bottom of the ladder, than to use your picks for it?

Point is, if we want improvement now, and we really, really do (the time for 'oh yeah they've got good young kids, it'll come together' is over), we need to find someone who can fill these roles now, and if we'd found a key forward in one of the last three drafts, instead of looking in the op shop donation bins, then we might well have that. I'm sure that was part of the thinking behind Darling, but Jesus Christ, the more I think about it, the more I think he'll look like a meds-deprived geriatric out there.

Genuinely could be worth reaching for a key forward at pick 2, as you say. Because if Sheezel, LDU, Wardlaw, Parker, Simpkin, Powell and whoever else can't work it out between themselves in the middle, without having another another top 5 mid stacked on top of them, then what ****ing hope have we?
