In regards to half the world are anti-semites, do we think if the numbers are that high then maybe the discussion should be what is exactly considered anti-semitic rather than just calling everyone one? I mean, if Netanyahu had his way every non-Jew would be anti-semitic.

Who's calling everyone an antisemite?

It's so embedded though, most people who are antisemites have no idea and would be horrified at being called out on it.

Sorry, I didn't mean anyone here was calling anyone anti-semitic, just that the article stating half the population have anti-semitic traits says to me that the term anti-semitic is being used as a blanket for anything perceived to be anti-Israeli.

People can have feelings of distrust and anger to Israel without being anti-semitic. It's no different to saying anyone who has ill feelings of Iran should be considered Islamaphobic. Or anyone who considers the Catholic church evil is Anti-Catholicism.

It's not antisemitic to criticise the government of Israel.

No, I made no claims on % of deaths. Pictures of Gaza 2025 resemble pictures of Warsaw 1945. That's what it looks like, literally.
GP, you are trying to backpeddle... This is what you said:
'Never again' was meant to mean never again. But Gaza now looks like 1945 Warsaw.
You are trying to compare the devastation from the current war with the Holocaust. That's why you used Warsaw, and not just any random war torn city from the last 100 years after saying "never again was meant to mean never again". You're saying that the Holocaust is happening again, but this time in Gaza.

Gaza is nothing, absolutely nothing, like Warsaw. This constant over-exaggeration and demonisation of Israel contributes to antisemitism. You don't have to support or like Israel, but comparing them to Nazis is beyond ridiculous.

Jazplaining again! We all know what the word 'looks' means. But I appreciate your interpretation.
Sure, Jan.
So whats your solution to antisemitism Jazny - more Peter Duttons?
Everyone just stop being racist  Use your brains, don't get caught in toxic far right or far left social media echo chambers, do some critical thinking. I don't think there is a solution, but we can't tolerate or excuse racism in any form like Islamophobia or antisemitism.

‘Bastards’: Premier slams perpetrators of daycare attack

The Sydney childcare centre, only 200m from a synagogue, was set ablaze and vandalised with an anti-Semitic slur in the early hours of Tuesday.

NSW Premier Chris Minns has fired warning shots at the “bastards” he says are behind an anti-Semitic attack on a Sydney childcare centre.

It's gotta be the same group of people doing this surely.

Hopefully they catch whoever they are soon and lock them up.
No, i think there is four distinct groups

One: the outliers of both the Jewish and Muslim groups which I would consider to be the minority, as both communities understand the innate racism or xenophobia of most Australins with the hatred of "them" and want to keep a low profile least this arc up and attack their communities in response,

They are just interested in keeping a low profile, a roof over their head, food on their table, a better life for their kids and to live in peace

Two, a small but vocal groups that are doing it for the angertainment value and record in their own little minds or the their online communities the responses. We all know the BF versions of these

Three. The true Neo Nazi's that believe that Australia should be an Aryan Nation(Fifth reich?) with their group in charge

The cookers who believe that if they commit the worst offences the ensuing intercenine warfare will cause the collapse of Australian society with the resultant political vacuum being able to bring about a true libertarian society where SovCits will take their rightful place

I think the police need to step it up a bit because there's been a few of these attacks since Ripponlea, they're escalating. An arrest might help calm things down a bit, something, anything.

There's no way they didn't know that was a childcare centre. imo.

The attacks are horrible, but somehow being a daycare centre just makes it seem so much worse.

Tiny kids FFS.

They know how to get publicity for their “cause”. I am certain that ASIO and the AFP are fully aware of who is behind the protests, the university encampments, the attacks, and the fires. There are organised international groups funding and coordinating activities (note the merchandise, matching tents, printed signs), training and recruiting, understanding how far the law can be stretched, and of course how to escape detection. Throw in gullible undergraduates who feel powerful supporting a “cause”, are dedicated to the oppressed/oppressor narrative, as well as random troublemakers tagging along for kicks, and it’s a big ask to put a stop to these activities that now have a firm hold.

She's been charged with participate criminal group/contribute to criminal activity and accessory before the fact to destroy or damage property

Tammie Farrugia, 34 connected to the Woollahra attack on December 11.

It is alleged a car was torched and two buildings and a footpath were graffitied – including a “Kill Israiel” (sic) message scrawled on the wall of one home – causing an estimated $20,000 in damages.

Exactly what I was getting at above. I heard some things about this during the university encampments in Australia, the UK and the USA, even named groups (can’t remember what they were atm). As I also said, these groups are very much on the ball with local laws and opportunities to attract useful idiots to do the dirty work. They are disrupters with multiple agendas.

The article claims he's the ninth person to be charged with these kinds of offences?

I don't recall reading about these other arrests.
First I have heard of them too, maybe they mean 9th overall ever in terms of hate crime graffiti?

Trying to keep it quiet for as long as they can imo, while they investigate their connections and international links.

The cops had to say something now because the public needs to be satisfied they're actually getting somewhere.

It's the right thread. Who do you think is part of these antisemitic attacks?

You think it's all just Nazis and Greens voters?

We don't actually know yet but among the arrests are two women and they both have Italian surnames. There's an unconfirmed report that they're sisters and Neo Nazis, that the Woollharra attack was a false flag.
