I actually said we see it on the nightly news, not that we see it on the news nightly.

My bad, none the less, let's not pretend the media don't use these events to generate click bait.

They’re recruiting, openly, all over the place, complacency like yours (eh it’s fine) leads to it not getting checked and beaten down.

Literally all I’ve said is it’s in the rise and we should remain vigilant and diligent against it. Nothing even worth responding to there.

Personally I think all the organisations doing it should be classified as terrorist organisations and prosecuted as extensively as possible, free speech can **** off when it impinges on human rights and equality too.

Toning down the hyperbole is not being complacent, like I said, society is already vigilant and dilligent. That's why we won't see 100s of 1000s Jan and Joes, taking up nazi ideology, and Armegeddon taking place. Not to mention there just isn't an appetite for this abhorrent mind set.

No one can 'phuq off' free speech, that would be literally impossible, they spew their hate and cop the consequences (I don't think the consequences are anywhere near harsh enough imo - a by product of 'everyone, even the most deliberate pos has rights' mantra)

10 years ago Nazi were very much in the shadows, rarely if ever seen and even less heard from.

Now we have them doing the ****ing salute on the nightly news. Showing up to every rally or march just to act like pricks.

Im sure 10 years ago wed have said that would never happen. As i said, it pays to remain vigilant.

I've always said, it is because of a few things.

The internet. Once the internet got too big. Those who would have lurked in the dark in the 90s, and only had a couple of whack job books, and groups to go by. Suddenly had a platform to grow and spread misinformation, recruit, and expand their reaches beyond anything they could imagine.

Social media peaking. What was once seen as a way for people to connect with friends and family. Ended up eroding into platforms driven by advertising, as the owners decided greed was the way to go, and use it to hoard wealth. Along with years of a lazy and broken system, which saw bots used instead of humans for monitoring. Which allowed fake accounts explode in numbers. Some driven by deliberate misinformation campaigns from foreign countries like Russia, some to scam people of money. Pages that push racism, division etc. All allowed to flourish, where most of us have been flagged or had accounts banned due to false reporting etc.

Trump and MAGA. They threw out the play book, and decided being divisive was the way to go. Lets start blaming migrants, gays, Muslims, trans people, for all the worlds problems. Even though the problems are caused by the same people pushing the "lets blame minorities" thing. It emboldened a whole group of people, to come out of the ass cracks of the earth. That hateful and divisive rhetoric was the way to go. People liked the idea of being able to call black people the N word again. Which in turn has meant a few political groups world wide, are trying to copy the same playbook.

The media. Two issues, being owned and bought out by people with ideological intentions (Murdoch). And then general standard of reporting. Now its popular to create an emotional response with click and rage bait stories, than genuine news worthy content.

AI is next. Already we are seeing it being abused, to create fake videos and pictures of things that don't even happen. Whether it is illegal content. Slandering political opponents. Feeding into a dumbed down society. Which will increase misinformation 10 fold. The amount of people who are reacting to AI generated content, thinking it is real, is beyond disturbing. Sadly humanity is going to fall a lot further still. People all over are becoming like yanks, selfish unemphatic, sucking off rich people, racist, genocide endorsing kents.

All it takes is economic downturn. All it takes is a voice in your ear saying "You're going to lose your job. To THEM. To immigrants. Someone will take your place because they have a different skin colour or a different gender. Diversity will destroy our markets"

Then the voice will trail off. Pause for effect. And then

"Vote for us and we will make sure that never happens. THEY will never be allowed to take your job under our rule. THEY will never gain traction."

And you'll vote for them because employment insecurity will make you fearful for the future and therefore oh-so-pliable.
