Dunno if it is the same in other states but in Perth it depends on the day. Monday and Tuesday are our cheap days. I got fuel for ~$1.89 on Tuesday then the next day it was 40c more expensive.

Xconvenience just got bought by BP from Mobil and now fuel prices have gone up. I really hope they don't turn it to trash.

Here they are 2kms apart and often 30-50 cents difference. The difference being the expensive one is on the main highway and all 4 in that stretch are usually the most expensive in the area.

7/11 the same, 2 near each other always the most expensive, 1 about 5kms away is now one of the cheapest as there is 3-4 petrol stations on the same road always cheap so they’re following suit.

Right now most around are 1.99, but those 5kms away are 1.63-1.65. Although went to a shell yesterday that was 1.65 and I had dockets, but had no fuel…So back to the others.

Interestingly up the country and my local is 1.74 atm, but it’s been that price for months, never changes.

I have filled up there at times to drive back to the city

If they shift volume, they don't need to drop prices to make room in their tanks for subsequent deliveries.

If they don't have enough room for the next tanker load, they have to drop prices to shift litres. Better you or I pay less now and carry the fuel around in our vehicles than it sits in their tanks, backing up their supply lines.

Generally that's it. Charge as much as they can until they need to get rid of it.
