Miles better than the hit out last week and no injuries hugely important too. Biggest positives for me were RHJ and FOS. The other thing I really liked was the period in the 2nd after they got a run on, and we were able to change our game style on the fly and wrestle back the momentum.

Just finished watching second quarter on delay. …….can anyone name me a more over rated defender than Corr. He’s the worst I can think of. Everyone loves to bag LMac, including myself, but at least he looks like he gives a shit. Corr is on 500K+ and has effectively stolen a wage from us. What a shocking recruitment in hindsight.
He cost us 4 of the first 5 goals I think.
3 as the Mullets direct opponent, then a panicked handball straight to the oppo fwd directly in front.

LMac has the worst ball drop I think I've seen and plays a decent game out of every handful. He is brave and that's where it ends.

Both need to go.

and Phillips ain't gonna make it. If he can't execute a basic skill with no pressure in a nothing pre-season game, he can't be relied on to get it done in games that matter.
If you apply that logic then McKercher is a mega spud. He struggles to execute the most basic of skills called a handball.

Clarkson will need to be committed if rocks the same backline in Round 1.
Corr and Logue have had very interupted pre seasons. I agree neither looked great today but they will be tested hard round 1 against Dogs forwards.
Not to stressed. We just tend to melt over here. Its due to so many poor seasons. We have good reason to be this stressed. Winning would have been good if not just for our mentality. Alot of positives to take away from the game today though. We dominated play for large chunks, created alot of shots on goals and most importantly for me in the middle of an Eagles run of goals we slowed down play and controlled it. We honestly havent done that in years.

Their backline was a major concern in the second quarter, however, as they conceded four unanswered goals to let the Eagles take a narrow lead.
North Melbourne, meanwhile, will be disappointed to have lapsed in defence through the final quarter and do have concerns with the make-up of their backline.

Pretty much spot on.
Our forwards did look better darling and Hansen showed a bit. Zurhaar was ordinary though.
The Defenders looked slow to me

I thought we looked pretty good between the arcs, but shit was going haywire inside them. The ease with which West Coast scored when they got in our d50 was especially worrying. It wasn't as though they were attacking with any sort of potency. We handed them several goals due to an inability to execute the most basic of fundamentals (which has been an ongoing theme for years now). I'm cautiously optimistic for round one because we should've thumped them, but we really need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

Yeah it was a loss.

Yeah it was a praccy game.

Yeah the Eagles get the headlines

But that was the most composed, sharp and dominant performance l've seen from this side in over 4 years...except we didn't get the chocolates - if we even kicked 50% or 12.12, the story would be it's going to be a long season for the Eagles.

Yeah we still have issues and work required but l'm actually quite bouyed that we are actually heading in the right directions

If that’s the case, we put that shit about chom to the forward line to rest?

Dawson, Whitlock developing.
Corr and Logue down there.

**** it put the Unicorn off half back and let him run

Only have seen the first half and apart from a 7 minute period we were seriously dominant - probably a 5-6 goal better half.

Can’t wait until rd 1.
Today showed that it doesn’t matter how dominant we are ball in hand, if you’re going to bleed goals every time the oppo eventually get it forward you’re gonna lose.

Definitely more positives than negatives in the loss. We looked really good in patches. FOS looked great, Daniel was superb, Colby, sheezel and Powell were really good and Darling wound back the clock.
