Round 3 Sunday 30th March 3:10 bounce down
Another warm, dry day is forecast
This is the match we have all been waiting for. 17th v 18th on the ladder. One team will rise slightly while the other will be anchored
️ to the bottom of the ladder. Pardon the pun.
The stereotypical opposition supporter base sip chardonnay from their luxury apartments overlooking Dogswamp aka Eagles heartland.
Our supporter base are better known for ignoring the arrogance of the average lounge chair Eagles supporter who think they have achieved something great because they chose to support a team that has won something on multiple occasions.
West Coast supporters
Hmm yeah ok!
Freo supporters
What legends!
While the oppo camp have had to endure a display from Harley Reid consisting of diving for free kicks and flipping the bird at the crowd because they don't worship him. Our Reid has been kicking goals and displaying the skills that a Harlem Globetrotter would be proud of.
In other news some of our Freo faithful have started to turn their back on JLO and his coaching team. I for one have become tired of the hype and my optimism has definitely dipped.
The media considered Freo the best of the best going in to the season and many of us long suffering supporters bought into the narrative. Some people want Longmuir gone if we lose this week to the Eagles. Is it a knee jerk reaction or does JLO lack the ability to have his players execute an effective game plan? I'll let you be the judge.
I think we will beat the Eagles and it will be the start of a 4 to 5 game winning steak. Wishful thinking? Yes, most likely.
Key match ups
Pearce v Allen
If not Pearce it could be Cox or Draper as we don't lack for talls. If Pearce blankets Allen then it makes it harder for West Coast to kick a winning score.
Tracey v McGovern
McGovern is physically strong as is Tracey. Tracey for me leads so well that he has the ability to take that physicality out of most contests. He needs to be the pathway to goals with Amiss down on form.
A big game from...
Amiss, yes, he has been down but he has the talent and just needs to build his confidence.
Bolton, he was good but didn't look like kicking goals last game. If he lifts his game inside 50 then we areba genuine threat to rip this game apart.
Serong and Brayshaw
They have both been well held in the first two rounds. If they can shake the close attention and get off the chain all hell will break loose.
Verdict
Freo by 27 points and Glendining Allan medal winner Luke Jackson
Peace and luv
