Have Richmond passed North and west coast

What in gzod's name are you on about?

The poster says we need to focus our drafting on the backline, in the most non-aggressive fashion (imaginable) I literally say, we have spent X amount on drafting defenders already (they are all injured). I don't expect anyone to know who they are, but... thems the facts. You can arbitrarily attack the NMFC for any reason you like (there are countless) but using high draft picks (focusing) on defenders is not one of them.

One of the most ridiculous posts (and not just a little bit wrong) - I've ever seen.
Luke Trainor is someone you should have targeted. He is going to be a special player. Exactly the person North needed. You went for FOS. He is a fantastic player BUT he is yet another midfielder. You need a real quality KPP. This is your recruiting problem. Whitlock is nowhere near as good as Trainor (at least at this point in time).

Probably, but just.

Eagles seemed bette4 today and north have just had a great showing after looking close recently

Nah, North still well ahead of us. We're at least 2-3 years behind them. They'll show that next Sunday too I think.

Eagles have a better group of younger players than they're given credit for. They stood up well today without The Great Wall Of McGovern.

North are still ahead but they’d want to be. West Coast are behind Richmond now and will only get worse when they lose a few older players.

North and to a lesser extent West Coast are still ahead but considering they've both been rebuilding longer than us, you'd expect them to be. The thing is, the Tigers are catching up very fast and in two years time we should be revisiting this same thread.

Yeah maybe but remember we pushed you on your home deck to a 2 points win.
We will find out more when we meet you on our home deck.

lol richmond had 5 players over 30 playing...the Eagles had 3

richmond are far more reliant on their 'stalwarts'
Lol, Richmond had Lalor, Sims, Faull and Trainor all first year players. McAuliffe and Green were 2nd year players. Banks and Brown and Tresize are 3rd year players. At many times we had all 9 players on the field and so half our team were first to 3rd year players! West Coast had one first year player (Gross), two second year (Reid x2) and two 3rd year (Ginbey and Maric).
That's a big difference in experience in the juniors.

You will likely win. I don’t think there’s much between the two sides. I just prefer our list at the moment. I don’t think that’s a controversial opinion to hold.

Not at all. I am actually looking forward to watching the cellar dwellers grow.
Tigers and West Coast could play some block busters in the future.
A healthy rivalry could develop.

Quick head count from weekend teams;

Richmond 9 kids
V
Eagles 6 kids
Pretty rubbish at counting.

Everyone has kids on their list. However, it's the kids you play and blood that's important in this discussion.
Eagles are consistently playing more kids and in more important positions this year.

Not more than Richmond. We had FOUR first years. That's double even your claimed count.

H.Reid, Brock.
Hutchinson, Reid x 2
Hewett, Ginbey, Maric

Throughout the year the eagles have averaged more 22 and under players. Just a fact.
LMFAO. Brock is not a first year. He played in the VFL for the Suns and couldn't a senior game. He is 22 and not 18 or 19. Jack Hutchinson is 23 and was a senior rookie picked up last year but he isn't in the same category as Reid x2 as a second year out of school footy.
Of all the players I only missed Hewett.

Why don't you pick "more 20 and under" as your age range as that signifies far more inexperience?

Apologies, didn’t realise we were counting “second year out of school footy”.

22 is a very common metric for assessing youth e.g 22 under 22, if you want to lord over the two extra 20 and under players doing **** all compared to the 22 year olds actually impacting games. More power to you.

Except almost everything you've said here is wrong.

Green is a 3rd year player (2022 draft). Banks and Brown are 4th year players. Trezise is almost 23 and was eligible for the 2020 draft.

If we're including players younger than Trezise you missed Hewett, Hough, Brockman and Brock for the Eagles.

There were 18 players younger than Trezise. 9 were tigers and 9 were eagles. Seems pretty even.

North are still a long way ahead. They will be fine they just need to get going and also attract talent in their backline.

The Eagles are in a world of hurt in my opinion and I think Richmond will rise up faster.

Richmond havent even bottomed out yet.

Starting centre square combo Nankervis, Hopper, Taranto plus Ralfsmith and Ross. Pretty mature group that.

Up against Flynn, Hutchings, Liam Ryan, Brockman, Hough, Harley, and Hewett.

And we lost by 2 points. Away at the MCG.

Just pause and think about that Tigers fans. ;)

You just won, at home, with your best available midfield against a very raw, young and developing midfield group.

And needed a non existent 50m penalty to do it.

So not sure why Tigers fans think they are miles and years ahead. They are still relying on an aging midfield core.
