Autopsy Got there in the end - Swans def Blues

3 huge controversies tonight that will be media talking points all week:

1. Umpiring & Voss’ resultant melt

2. Armatey & McI bumps

3. caesar88 POTY votes

Well even for pressure acts Heeney and Warner were top 5 and didn't crack a vote 😂

The media never whinges about umpiring when we're on the wrong end of it....only if the slightest thing goes against one of their beloved big Victorian clubs....having said that if that's what it takes to put some pressure on the AFL to finally improve the standard then so be it.
We were on the right end of a few tonight but across the comp there are far too many horrific calls being made in most games. Full time has to be the way to go, it's meant to be a professional sport ffs.

Apparently paid $130k a year as semi professionals with shocking efficiency. Don't know if they would still be in a job in the outside world

They're just pandering to the audience. They ride the side who they think has the most one eyed viewership in a given game. Kane Cornes is the only one who doesn't give a flying **** about upsetting the status quo and I love him for it.

Bit of an aside but it would be nice to see Adam out there one night presenting the Goodes-O'Loughlin medal.

He has understandably removed himself from the AFL landscape, but returning to present the medal, in a welcoming environment, would be pleasing to see, particularly as the red and blue colours of the Medal are based on our first Marn Grook guernsey, which was designed by Adam's mother, Lisa Sansbury.

Here's hoping one day he will feel the time is right.
Carlton fans would probably be not too welcoming after the last time he played them.

Hope he swaps Florent and Lloyd next week
Lloyd will get his kick up the bum when gulden takes back his wing spot.

In saying that I think Lloyd should just go back to half back. He's not dynamic enough to play up the ground at this point in his career.

Will be interesting times when florent, Lloyd, bice, fox and Cunningham will be battling for the same spot. Tough spot for Cox at the moment. Would be less of a problem managing form when you can actually bring in a half decent player.

I just much rather the dare from Bice and the ability to make those kicks whereas Lloyd is smaller and also can't defend as well and just boots it long

Credit to Cox on finally making a few calls with McLean dropped, Florent sub. Good to see some senior players take some flak for a shit performance for a change....they probably weren't the two I'd have picked personally but glad he took the stand.
Imagine Florent probably comes back into the starting 22 the challenge though now is not to backtrack on the McLean call (they were probably hoping he'd play well and he didn't)....and they said he was dropped for form, so really he shouldn't come back in until he finds some, that's how the message sticks that we're serious selection integrity. Amartey's act makes that hard, but you almost have to pick Buller over McLean next week if nothing else but to drive the standard/message he just set.

Although the first 3 qtrs were god awful to watch we competed, there wasn't the softness and reaching tackles that have become a feature of our performances....which is a step forward. Needs to be backed up now obviously.

Natural progression. Lloyd will eventually be phased out. When I say move to half back as in swap with Ollie to the wing.

Never want to see Lloyd and Florent in defence ever again except when there is no other option.
Both were there to create exits. We now have better options with players who can defend (not including Blakey). Foxy probably won't make it back in unless for injury but Harry will cause some angst. Bice would be unlucky to miss out.
Our most dynamic wing combo is Gulden and McInerney with Campbell relieving from HF or even Chad.

Cleary with 14 disposals (most in the middle of the ground as well) yet only 12 meters gained while getting 5 goal involvements and a goal assist on top of his 29 pressure acts yet having one turnover is an incredibly even performance.
The flashes are there we just need to keep him in the seniors as he is too good for the VFL, needs to continue to keep up with the pace of the AFL

Problem is that we both want to see changes (even with the "old" injuries/suspensions) but it doesn't help when we get 3 more injuries/suspensions in the game itself

Reckon he and Sheldrick should be an important part of our core midfield quite soon. Cleary as first hands and Gus swapping with Rowie.

Florent, Adams, Mills hopefully in for Francis, McInerney and Amartey with Heeney/Warner able to play more time up front
You want us to go in to next week with a KPD line of McCartin and Rampe (who doesn't consistently play tall anymore and would prefereable play on Fritsch next week) and a KPF line of Ladhams and Hamling?

Walsh was largely ineffective for them, wasn't paying huge attention to his match up...noticed Jordon next to him a few times, assume that was the matchup and another scalp for JJ.

Yep. Cox did the smart thing and tagged Walsh and then rolled Warner and Heeney on and off Cripps to basically make him accountable which he wasn’t after quarter time.

Don’t want McLean back next week even if it’s for Amartey. Our forward pressure rating will dip hard due to his inability to do anything when the ball hits the deck.

Would rather Buller come in or debut Snell and keep Hamling forward. Maybe bring both in with Francis out but no McLean.

as for tonight I really enjoyed Wicks game.
The only player who has not regressed this year. It’s such a delight to see how he has found his home in the backline.

Mccartin has had a few great weeks now which is good to see.

We’re still in this fight

can win the next 3 and somehow be 7-6 going into the bye

legit a miracle if we can win next 3 and we get some players back, esp gulden
