While it's still more probable than not, due to the government and the AFL stadium fiasco (and that is a generous description), Tassie may not end up fielding a team.

I won't bore you all with the details but this charade is up there with the worst government ****ups in the long Tasmanian history of government ****ups. Every week it gets worse.

There is no problem with having a team, there is more debate about having a new stadium, but there is strong, almost overwhelming opposition to the Mac Point 1 stadium. It is quite simply stupid. It's the wrong location and has utterly negligent "funding" proposals. There has never been any answer about why Mac Point 2, about 1 km away, with strong private sector funding and a proven geophysical base for the foundations will not be considered.

I've said it before, it's a conspiracy theorist's delight for the AFL to impose such unfeasible conditions that our state's inability to satisfy them will mean no team and the AFL can skip away and say it wasn't their fault.

So, it's necessary to actively plan for Tassie to enter the competition and draft players accordingly, but don't think it's a guarantee. I don't know how much more has to be discovered about this disaster before it can't happen as proposed, but it has to be on a knife edge at the moment.

In 20 years time, if the stadium isn't built (and the team never happens) there will be major regrets.

AFL made it clear what the conditions were for Tassie to get their team, Tasmania agreed - and now want to modify the deal? Doesn't work that way lol

and for the AFL’s final trick they’ll disappear one small battling Vic club and make it reappear in Tassie

Let’s not do a Membrey with Webster.
He definitely looks good to go for at least one more year.
Looking a little sparse in the backline with senior bodies.
I'd agree but is anyone else OOC (below) more likely?

Most likely delistings:
  • McLennan
  • Boyd
  • Carroll
  • Heath
  • Cordy

In the gun:
  • Keeler
  • Jones
  • Schoenmaker

Unlikely but maybe:
  • Byrnes
  • Webster

We made 11 changes last year (Allison, Battle, Bonner, Campbell, Crouch, Hayes, Hotton, Membrey, Paton, Ross, Van Es) and although I don't think we make that many this year I can't see us cutting any less than 8.

Anyone else more likely to go?
O’Connell and Paddy Dow would have to be in the gun too

For us uneducated Victorian folk, what’s the difference between Mac Point 1 and Mac Point 2?

Good.

Has not put a foot wrong since joining imo. He’s played what 25 games ?

Tough , athletic neat. Wonder what his scope is ?
Also going to need him to be here for young Eamon when he gets here.
Seriously, he’s shown a fair amount earLy.

They'd be better off having the GWS Tigers.
At least they get moderate crowds in Victoria.
Move the Saints and i no longer follow AFL.

I still think that's where Windhager will find his home, replacing jimmy... I don't think he's clean enough to be a mid
Use him like Sydney use Rowbottom / Jordan ..... an annoying tagging scrubber that loves to get down & dirty ..... just give him an assignment to take out the opposition's best mid every week

Hastie? Wouldn’t he be the one to replace Jimmy?

macrae out 2-3 weeks

do we remain the self described(this board)middling team,or as this

(Saints in no man's land)

afl website headline suggests and select jones, because he got 30 possies in the 2's(again)?and watch him play another bang average game for the saints, helping us to jump up and down on the one spot?or do we prioritise boxshall and clark?one who is our future and one who still can be and try to do something about it?

i hope its boxshall then clark and bring jones in if there are 3 or more changes
