Wick they won’t be in a healthy financial position by alienating the members who pay big dollars and eventually give up

We've only dropped a couple thousand members from where we were 12 months ago. The waiting list for reserved seating upgrades is apparently over several thousand places.

So as much as I'd like to agree I just can't.

I watched a clip from SEN this morning from Bucks and Gerard and Bucks seemed to suggest it’s less list related and more about structure and tactics.

Said we have great top talent and he likes our worker bees

From that there’s only one conclusion you can come to. Voss out , Bucks in!!

😃
He was sacked for a reason, he’s not that good of a coach…

I think that’s ultimately it.

We’ve tried established coaches, we’ve tried up and coming coaches.

If they’ve done well enough to convince Wright they’re the man for the job, I can get behind that.

We need to find an established coach who’s currently an assistant, and I know just the man …

This is where I am on it too.
Longmire = big smile...hope!
Buckley = oh no...here we go again.
Just seem to remember a lot of negative stuff I read back then...people management etc.

My number 1 choice would be for Graham Wright to find the next Craig McRae among the assistant ranks.

However, if Wright's number 1 choice is Horse, I'll trust his judgement.
Agreed! I think with the untried coaches I think Nigel Lappin can have that McRae impact. I also think Hayden Skipworth could be another good candidate, apparently he’s highly rated and Wright would know him well when he was at Collingwood.

It’s not utter crap, Ollie is a ball butcher who the opposition want to have the ball. Cripps knows this. Another bust of a first round pick, a winger with good endurance running who we knew at the time of drafting him was a poor user of the ball.

Our issues stem from having Acres on one wing who can’t kick and Hollands on the other who can’t kick, so much so we’ve sent him to the backline so we don’t have two wingers that can’t kick.

We have a full team of players who apart from a handful are ordinary kicks and were known average kicks when we drafted or traded for them.

An indictment on our list management

I’m pretty sure the comment that Ollie was a poor ball user at the time of his draft is either inaccurate or not the complete picture. I remember him from that draft year and he has hitting plenty of good targets. Was he perfect, no. But l would not have called him a poor ball user at all. I would be surprised if the draft profiles of that year were saying he was a poor kick.

As for his kicking at the moment, he is inconsistent. He’s a nice looking kick and I see him hit some really good targets but then he stuffs up a 20m kick. I’ve most noticed problems with his short kicking. I think it has to be remembered that Ollie is only a third year player. He should be able to tidy things up.

I have a suspicion that our form of some of our players is because of the unknown that comes with Wright taking over. A lot are scared they could be gone by seasons end.
Well they’re not helping themselves then and more importantly, they are proving they can’t take the heat. Not a good look.
I would have thought they would be putting their best foot forward instead but then your theory doesn’t surprise me with this lot.

So Caro said on the agenda setters that with the coaches salary looking like it will go outside the soft cap, that if we were to move on from Vossy the pay out will NOT be as costly for us to do so. Caro and Hutchy both felt it wasn’t a given that he will be coaching us next year.

Unless results change for the better in the next 8 weeks, l reckon that would be fairly accurate.

The more I think about it the more I want Wright to clear house and bring in his people. His head coach, his head of football, head of list management and recruiting etc.

This is his football club now, put his stamp on it.

Yes and no.

This football club has a MAJOR saviour/messiah complex.

Every new person we bring in is going to be the person to single handedly turn things around.

We were saying the same things about Cooke 3 years ago.

All very depressing really.

I don't buy into this at all. We picked up one of the best in the business to bring stability and competent management to the club after years and years of the opposite.

Cook has done exactly that. Wright is an agent of change and the base is restless, therefore plenty are excited about what he'll do.

I don't think anyone at the club or in the fan base are delusional enough to think 1 player or CEO is going to fix all our issues after Judd, Malthouse etc. nor do I hear anyone mention anything of the sort.
