Is all the Geelong v Richmond fighting going on here because of the Grand Final at the Gabba ?

Got to go to that one since it was in Brisvegas. Was neat to go to a Grand Final. Cats and Tigers played well too !!

Thank you Geelong for loaning us Gazza for a few years to help the Sun's get started !!

He got smashed in that GF though by the Richmond boys though, when headed back to Cattery.
Oh yes the covid cup. The year that Brisbane had it on a platter and choked it away.

No it is because of years of rodgerings in the eighties and nineties

Oh well. Can't win All the Time. Think it was more of a choke 2 years ago letting the lead slip 5 minutes out to the Pies in the GF.
But what a smashing win last year. Swans are still getting over it.
Think Geelong choked out in the Prelim to the Lions too from memory. Sorry about that.

Geelong were returning to finals after missing in 2023. The reigning grand finalists had the recent big match experience (5 finals 2023-2024 heading into that game) to win a close one.

Been away from tv/radio for last few hours doing gardening whilst weather was good.

Caught the post game on the radio - Geelong player being interviewed was asked about Smith - response was he didn't train all week and the club lets players have to the last minute to see if they can get up.

After the AFL told clubs to be more truthful in early week injury lists (a mysterious finger injury coincidentally disappeared a couple of weeks ago) I thought I must have missed B.Smith Test on there... so thought I'd check.

Nup... was not there.

Just like the Lions chocked out in 2022.
Who was that against again?

The writing was on the wall when he spoke after the Bulldogs game that it wouldn't be long until he missed one. Granted if he'd missed last week against your mob that might have made things interesting, but he was legitimately a player who had to go into every game following the Bulldogs with a question mark on him until he inevitably did miss one.

Anyone who couldn't see that coming probably shouldn't be betting on footy or being paid to comment on footy. And I'm not really sure why anyone else should care.

Just a shame the pre finals bye has given the teams that don’t really deserve it a better chance at winning it.
Hopefully they scrap it and a team doesn’t ride their luck throughout the finals series.
Teams getting a rest when they don’t deserve it 😂

And nah in 23 the pies should have crucified you. Horrible kicking for goal kept you in it.
Any team that gets there (the Grand Final Win ) deserves it. it's like conquering Everest in a way.
The Pies got the 2023 win. good on em' . they might win this year too.
Yeah there's a bit of luck involved at times , but couldn't say there are teams that don't deserve it like you are saying. It's One of the Toughest , most Even Competitions on the Planet.

The Sun's are still trying to get to their first Final of any type. So I'm wishing them well.

How are the Nepo's going today?

Haven't had a chance to check the scores?
If you're going to troll Suns supporters, you might want to at least change your AFL team on this forum to a team other than the Suns. Do better and someone might bother to bite at your obvious attempt to troll.

Eg... captain selection in fantasy footy.

Either way, the clubs were told to not play games with the weekly Injury lists.

Commentators post match on 3AW all said 3 weeks. 4 if there had a been head contact.

They were going by the assumption that Anderson was concussed when his head hit the ground.
That grading would mean that the 3aw commentators are thinking it is intentional and severe impact. The only way a hit to the body can get 3 weeks.

If that is intentional and severe, god help the sport.

It sounds to me like the commentators are speaking rubbish.

Good solid contest in the wet. Holmes 40, Atkins and Gryan did well. Cameron and Paddy quiet ones and no Baz, so good to get the win! 9-4 and into the top 4 ! Keep going before the bye and my pre season prediction of cats fighting for bottom half of the 8, a wrong call! Get it done raging bull!
