I was under the impression that the "one in all in, onw out all out" theary meant:

1. You put in a group of up to 8 (lets use a group of 8 as the example)
2. All number 1s are put into the ballot (number 2-8 are dependant on No. 1)
3. As each number one is drawn, the rest of the group go with that person.

So, if I am the number one barcode, and I am the first to be drawn in the ballot, then my other 7 people go as well.

If however, there is only seats in groups of 4 remaining, and my number is pulled out, there is not room for all 8 of us to sit together. therefore we all miss out on tickets. If i was only in a group of 4 though, I would get these seats.

That is my interpretation.

Well that's what I thought, but everyone is calling me wrong!

I'm just going on what the lady at GFC told me. This is where the system breaks down cause the documentation should have clearly stated all this.

We really shouldn't have to sit here trying to work out and take guess as to what the flock it means.

As I saids I'd be happy to be proven wrong as all GFC members deserve the same rights.......guess all this will be put to bed on Monday morning!

look at it logically:
for ease of explanation:
assume 15,000 members tix.
30,000 members register.
so that means 50% chance of succes - basic binomial probability distribution - yes/no response.
there is still 15,000 tix regardless of the size of your group. only issue is the sequencing of the ticket distribution and how they operate that. so you may not be sitting together in bigger groups. thats all. still the same 50% chance of getting a ticket.

nah - you will just get two groups of four in different areas. same if there is only single tix left. its actually quite a good system when you look at it logically. you have the same precentage chance as previous years, good chance you might actually get to sit with your mates still, and you dont have to line up for 5 days...........

its not one out all out.
its once the last registration number is drawn corresponding the remainig seats, thats all she wrote.
so in effect if your ballot number isnt drawn you all miss out..........god damn if i will be one of those unlucky buggers either..........

i assume it will only apply near the end when there are no large sequences available??

Here is the pertinent line from the pdf:

Members wishing to sit together must register their group in one transaction using one credit card. There is a maximum of eight (8)
tickets per transaction (eg only eight barcodes will be accepted per transaction). However, members should be aware that

Note it is referring to 'members who wish to sit together'

You get issued with a reciept number after the phone process this is also your "booking number" when you search on Geelongs web site (Monday morning 9am) for that reciept number (should we win Friday) there is only two outcomes
Search Successful:
The 'group' you booked for (regardless weather it was one ticket or 8 tickets) goes
Search Unsuccessful:
If your search is unsuccessful your 'group' doesn't go (regardless weather it was one ticket or 8 tickets)

Our lives as we know it are in the hands of a computer, the computer "allocates" tickets via the reciept numbers - supposedly randomly.

SUrely cant be that hard
