Whately has gone to town on the SCG curator, the SCG Trust, the AFL and the SFC today on his radio show.

Started by referring to the curator as ‘clueless’ ‘

He said how could he possibly be “surprised” by the condition of the oval. It’s been a disaster since some ‘no name’ act played there.

Whately claims that the pitch has been garbage for four years under this guys oversight also.

Apparently Port were seething after their game, the GWS made a discreet complaint, but Bevo chose to not take on the issue last night.

Whately claims that the AFL are ignoring the issue and the visit by the ‘guru gardener’ is a blind.

He also stated SFC and Trust absence of comment should be seen as a denial of the reality also.

I suspect the curator will be tending the roses at the Bondi crematorium next week.

I heard the poindexter , i text in how much curating and grass knowledge does he have . Coming from those in the know his ego is out of control and he thinks he's the expert in ALL sport . He stabbed Slobbo off 360 as well

Yes, he’s part of the Geelong cohort - with all the excuses for bad behaviour and oral sex for Chris Scott that goes with the job.

And yes, there’s a lot of smoke and not much fire to his accusations in this issue.

Oh they've awoken the Italian in me now.

Andrea Bocelli a "no-name act"?

The curator is one of the best in the business he's not going anywhere despite this so called 'issue' and it's not even an issue. Pitch has played fantastic for cricket in the last 2 and a bit seasons, end of the day he's doing his job there. Whately just loves the sound of his voice and it wouldn't have anything to do with him wanting to get the Cats game moved right lol

The SCG trust hasn't existed for nearly 5 years.
On 1 December 2020, the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust was also merged into Venues NSW.[4][5]

As of August 2022, Venues NSW's venues are:[6]

Stadium Australia (Accor Stadium)
Western Sydney Stadium (CommBank Stadium)
Newcastle International Sports Centre (McDonald Jones Stadium)
Newcastle Entertainment Centre and Showground
Sydney Cricket Ground
Sydney Football Stadium (Allianz Stadium)
Wollongong Showground and Wollongong Entertainment Centre (WIN Sports Stadium and Entertainment Centres)

Typical bullshit from the Vic media. Our players have been slipping all season and they only noticed when a Victorian club ****ing whinges about it. God I hate the Victorian bullshit

Not much AFL representation on that board, lots of NRL but not much AFL.

I'm trying to decide how much credence to give these accusations. Who are you referring to as 'those in the know'? Did you hear their comments directly or are you merely repeating gossip?

I really thought we weren't interacting Mr R Duck
Not intereacting with you would be nice but sadly I can't come onto this board without your comments or replies to your comments popping up in many threads.

It asked a perfectly polite question. I think it's reasonable to ask if you have anything other than gossip from unnamed sources to back up what was a pretty serious accusation. If it's just an opinion, you should say so. Perhaps use IMO or IMHO.

I really don't want to have a bar of you , but a hint , others in that dog Murdochs media empire
Sly whispers over the wall of the next toilet cubicle from an anonymous figure on the inside? Sorry, you can't expect others to simply buy it.

And there's no call to get personal.

So the swans are getting Joe Daniher now.

Lel.

How's those clickbait titles.

Joe Daniher out of retirement with the Swans
⁉️

It's the shock backflip rumbling that has been doing the rounds in the AFL world.
Now, whether the Brisbane Lions premiership forward could return has been revealed - and the answer points to a clear truth around the current player market.

Let me take a wild stab in the dark here. Would the answer be "no"?

My favourite kind of footy media story.

"It's the shock backflip rumbling that has been doing the rounds in the footy world."

A Google search shows that the "rumblings" consist of two mentions by media pundits. The first, after the Crows game, when James Hird suggests the Swans should try to recruit Daniher. The article very clearly states:

Hird stressed that this is his opinion, and is not based on any inside info surrounding Daniher's current situation.

"I don't know anything, but I recruited him," he said.

"I was Joe's first coach. He's a fantastic guy, hard work ethic, he was a superstar last year."

The next we hear of it is from the Dead Eye Dick that is Caroline Wilson, four days ago, when she says this:

Caroline Wilson says the Swans need “someone like” Joe Daniher in their side and thinks the star forward could be persuaded out of retirement.

“We keep hearing they could be talking to Joe Daniher,” Wilson said on 3AW Football.

Which is a classic example Can't-Lose Journalism. "We (who is we?) keep hearing (from where?) they could be (so you don't actually know?) talking to Joe Daniher."

She has technically done her job criteria - punched out some clickbait, gotten subsequent clicks for her employer - without actually doing anything at all.

So those two examples are the "rumblings" - an opinion from James Hird with the specific mention that he doesn't know anything, and Caroline Wilson being vague and saying nothing at all.

Jon Ralph then comes out and so boldly and bravely declares that the "rumblings" are all wrong. He's the one who is right because he is saying the thing that seemed pretty ****ing obvious to everyone based on the available evidence.

They are all completely wrapped up in their own little media bubble of self-importance and white noise that they can't just stop and comprehend that what they're reporting isn't catching fire and being taken seriously, and so shouldn't be referenced later down the road as any kind of a credible scoop.

Absolute loser behaviour to call this your "job." Even worse they are so well-paid for it.
