That steaming pile of dogshit will finish one or two places either side of the unstoppable Hawks I'll have you know
Dream on . Hawthorn are currently fifth, there is no way that Carlton will finish between Third and Seventh this year.
The pile will keep on steaming on. The team they piled out on the field in their last game was the oldest team Carlton had fielded in 80 years.

Reckon we've got the right bloke. This team doesn't turn up their toes ever which is a stark difference to last year (and the last few years)

He has the players buying in. Good times ahead imo
I wish Mini would share with the supporters the AFL's response to his query regarding the umpiring decisions.
Maybe he's been told not to share the response in order to protect the umpires from the wrath of the fans.
If the umpires were wrong they should be transparent and admit it. Secrecy breeds suspicion.
Will be interesting if the umps on Friday night are trying to make it up to us with line ball decisions going our way for a change. The umps we had against the pies were nobodies, hopefully we get 4 of the better umpires on the list.
If we get umpire 43 we are doomed.

Mini is smart, he hasn't criticised but made it public he was asking. To help coach the players (ha). Thats code for royally they stuffed up.

Pretty good aricle about Mini.

From Oscar Allen’s future to Jeremy McGovern’s retirement, Andrew McQualter faces it all in first year as coach

Another kid to debut, maybe a dozen with less than 50 games to face GWS, I’m loving your work McQualter.
I must admit I thought bringing on Bo with 5 minutes to go against Norf was ****ing rubbish.
But compared to Simmo, you score a solid A-

No suprise to hear West Coast in the market for Assistant Coaches and development assistance. Simmo's deal expires end of this year, so in theory there should be a decent amount in the soft cap to spend.
It's not a bad thing that he had to work with inherited assistants. It give him a season to work out exactly what he wants and to be able to convey that from the get go to his new team.

Really confident that we have the right person at the helm with Mini.

The way he communicates and the shift in cohesion & performenace we've seen from the group in the second half of the season shows he's got the players buy-in. It's really impressive.

Exactly the guy we need to develop a young group and get em' ready for success - hopefully he gets to be the one that takes us to that success too.

The improvement shown over the course of the year is heartening, but hope we can address these slow first quarter starts.

Agree though, appears to be on the right track.

After the weekends game, looks like it’s been addressed somewhat. Ran out of legs in the end. Probably better to start red hot and hope to hold on to a lead then chase for the whole game I guess?

Haven't seen it mentioned yet around here, but there's a possibility we have made enquiries about getting Mitch Duncan over as a development coach next year. Anyone with a legitimate, not just a "vibe" opinion on his credentials? Link below, but I'll copy in the relevant points first;

CAT IN COACHING HUNT

GEELONG veteran Mitch Duncan is racing the clock to be fit for another finals series, but rival clubs are chasing his services as a coach in 2026.

The 34-year-old is recovering from shoulder surgery and still a month away from returning on the eve of September.

Duncan is out-of-contract and expected to be in the final season of his decorated career at the Cats.

A handful of AFL clubs are understood to have enquired about his availability as a development coach next season, both from inside Victoria and interstate.

With the soft cap increasing by $750,000 in 2026, clubs are starting to prepare for off-season football department changes, armed with more money for not just assistant coaches, but development, high performance personnel and recruiters.

Clubs with younger lists, like Richmond, St Kilda, West Coast and North Melbourne are expected to allocate more money to development, following a rise in the soft cap.

Duncan appeals to many across the competition, given his desire to transition into coaching after his career comes to an end.

The two-time premiership midfielder became only the sixth Cat to reach 300 games earlier this season and is highly regarded for his football IQ, professionalism and leadership. – Josh Gabelich

First 28 quarters of 2025 we won 2 qtrs

Next 28 quarters of 2025 we won 11.5 qtrs

Slowly improving

Bridge the gap and have less damaging losing qtrs in the 2nd half would be nice

Hmmmm... 4 wins and 12 quarters lost since

Total:

won 17.5 qtrs
lost 50.5 qtrs

ah flip

Hope we come home with a rush of winning qtrs 🙏

He’d be a good option as a development coach- quite a few of that Geelong side have had decent careers as assistants- Enright, Corey, Scarlett and King off the top of my head

Would be even better if we could somehow convince him to spend a year as a playing assistant for the WAFL side

Harry Taylor has hopefully had a word in his ear

That would be fantastic, has that ever happened though? Player/coach in the 1's I've heard of, but not a player coming over to player in the seconds. Great idea

Seems to be where all things coaching/fitness go.

Surprised to see Inness linked to another club already.

Seems to have done a great job, would be ashame to lose him.

Mathew Inness and Andrew Russell have been floated as potential candidates to become Essendon's next high performance boss after the Bombers announced the departure of Sean Murphy on Friday. Murphy has led the Bombers' high performance team since the start of 2020, but the club have announced his contract won't be renewed past this season.

That would be a real kick in the balls if we lost Mathew Inness.

He has done a good job , massive upgrade from Warren Kofoed.

We can ill afford to lose good people from the Club
