Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Meanwhile they still have Pendles( the Pies all time favourite player)and Sidewinder that are 45 years old and still there.
Ask any Pies supporter how happy they wouldve been had the traded out Pendles.
Anyway regardless, whatever happens is out of our control.
Yeh but how many times have you seen pendles olr sidebottom let the pies down in a clucth situation?

Charlie I can rattle off many times when he has played on and missed from 20 and we have gone opn to lose etc etc.

Not against charlie but we hero worship our players. It has got us absolutely nowhere!!!

hey guys long time lurker and follower of the forum.

Lost my old account a while back but still had never made a post so no matter there lol.

A few observations
The impact loosing Cotteral and Elijah to injury or other drama this year has had a huge impact on our results. those two are probably our two most important forward link up players, as in sending the ball inside 50.

i get the feeling that several other factors have consired to give us a disaster year as well like newy's injury and and to a lesser extent the charlie and harry knee injuries.

i also see some level of discontent with players attitudes and ask myself are these guys mentally tough enough? my opinion is probably not.

i look forward to some chage at seasons end i cant see voss surviving after season end and hope GW works some magic.

Get what you're saying but it's a bit rough comparing the relatively inexperienced Charlie to 2 of the best under pressure decision makers in the league who also have far more experience.
Charlie's on field decision making is often lead by the exuberance of youth ie rush of blood scenario.
The other 2, not so much.
Charlie's decision making will improve with age, maturity and experience.
I just still hope that's with us.

 are you saying Charlie is young and inexperienced?

Charlie is 28 and has played nearly 150 games.

If we have to wait for him to improve with age and experience, no wonder we are where we are.

Pendlebury and Sidebottom were 1 and 2 in the Norm Smith voting in the 2010 GF, at the ages of 22 and 19.

You realise you don't need an account to read the forum?
It's very obvious when posters aren't new.
You and jaggabagga in particular stand out. 😊
I don't personally care if you say who you were before.

If you want a fresh start then you have your reasons.

I know there's been a lot of conjecture re TDK lately but as of the last few weeks I have been told the following:

  • He hasn't yet made up his mind.
  • We're trying to bridge the gap between our offer and St. Kilda's offer by laying out a 'post football plan'. This includes being mentored into the financial world by Chris Judd, who currently manages TDK's financial affairs.
  • St Kilda have not formally made an offer. Any offer must first be submitted to the AFL for review and this has not yet happened.
  • He loves the club and his teammates. His best mates are at the club. There is still a huge buy in led by Captain Courageous Crippa.

Intriguing.

Not so much the St Kilda bit - I don't think they even can submit the offer to the AFL until the Free Agency period kicks off. Though there is presumably the lingering concern for TDK that they may revise their offer between now and then, which might be why even if he was leaning towards going he wouldn't reveal it publicly.

Have to say, I do worry that even if the "extra" we offer is by way of post-footy opportunities, the money we've apparently tabled is still more than I'd feel comfortable committing to a bloke who hasn't even put together a dominant 4 quarters, let alone a season.
