Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I would happily pay Jack $700-750k for 5 years. No issue

In new salary cap structure it isn't much and the kid is Carlton all the way. This is more than money for me. This is history and heart and I believe playing FB (which people attacked me for suggesting) he could be a pillar for us for next 5-6 years

I see his signature as a key to us bouncing back quickly and for many reasons
Based on Jack's output the last 3 years $700k seems a very good offer, quite possible in 2 years time Dean & O'Farrell will be keys in our defence structure.

Also feel our window has passed & Wright may believe getting more young talent rather paying more to some of $ driven players.

$18,253,000 shared amongst 40 players is $455,000 per player. Being the 10-12 players are either rookies or first year or second year players. Minimum pay for these players is $150,000. So 25% of our list is likely on $200-300,000. So the average senior player is on around $530,000. It’s not a stretch to put him on $750,000 for 4-5 years.
Please sticky this on top of all threads, so it’s visible for all. :p

about 50 staff. You said Everyone like it's clearout
To be fair, the boot studder or person running the cafe or even the general physios aren’t on people’s radar.
There are probably up to a dozen key non-board roles that determine how a footy club operates.
You boot the head of footy, head coach and multiple senior coaches, and that constitutes a fairly seismic shift in most people’s minds.

Don't disagree but wasn't point

Anyone who has a 'personal agenda' on a forum would have to be a bit of a sad case - forums are just type on a page. This is supposed to be fun - not life or death.
There's always some who will take things, and themselves, way too seriously.

From a good source: both Melbourne and Carlton approached Longmire (not sure if for HOF or HC role). Longmire prefers Carlton, however no decision had been made yet.
Excited Lets Go GIF

Big changes coming
Disfunctional football dept
Wright disgusted with top heavy salary cap
Coaching structure/skills balance a joke
Lot of list deadwood to be cleared
Won’t be scared to move contracted players
A couple of key positions already decided
If certain changes don’t happen some will jump ship. Wright not fussed
Believes with changes we are top 8 side flag potential
Has met with every player manager possible
Wright & Austin working well together
Expect a “new” role inside football dept to be announced
Money not an issue

Cripps focussed for Doc and called a meeting of players. Emotional. Fear is other players don’t care and have checked out

Shit it’s cold 🥶

PS Doc wanted to play on next year
Thanks. Sounds like Wright making ground and transition in progressing well. Has Cook packed his bags for Bali?

With all due respect Soap, I think this is an overly sensitive reaction to what Geth was saying. Looking at your recent posts, yes, there is a fair bit that has the "black and white" aspect of fact/truth or not, but there is also a liberal amount of opinion in them as well.

I don't think it hurts to be be reminded to be mindful of presenting opinions as fact, especially when posting as an "in the know" poster. Maybe its even worth separating the two types of posts? Other ITK's in the past have restricted themselves to mostly short posts that just provide a bit of info, without much - if any - elaboration. They rarely venture into opinion at all. You are as much a "supporter poster" as you are an ITK, so the lines become blurred.

But yeah, to characterise Geth's responses as an "attack" is likely to put you into a more defensive frame of mind, and make you more reactionary to other responses. And I say this only because it would be a shame for the board to lose your insights over a misunderstanding ...

Yes to John Longmire. Someone who knows how to coach in the modern game and would be hurting from losing his last four Grand Finals and would be hungry for success. Also someone who these players wouldn’t dare not play for when the going gets tough. He'd bury them in the twos.

Ummm getting flogged on GF day isn't an achievement.
True, although it probably says something that we'd take getting flogged in GFs over our current predicament.
