Couple of ITK posters had a sook instead of using the ignore function.

Sad to hear that Briztoon was banned for sharing his views. His rights have been trampled on by the crooked wce posters.

He wasn't an innocent victim by a long shot.

Eagles board is very lenient and appreciates views of other posters. VERY LENIENT. He took a very one sided, negative, narrow view and repeated it over.....and over.....and over.

Do that on other boards the lynch mob run you out of town pretty quick. After a few months of it some of the older posters cracked it and there was a "Royal Commission" formed. So now there are separate threads.

Briztoon was just trying to help the WCE rise up the ladder again. He has detailed insights into WCE's list and the drafting strategy they should be adopting. Dare I say, greater insight than most WCE fans. Its a sad day.

No. He wasn't.

If he was being genuine he wouldn't joke about stirring up the Eagles board back on the Brisbane board.

And he would acknowledge that trading in players is part of any rebuild.

Anyway. Not the thread for it.

This is the AFL we are taking about here. We have no idea what they are thinking.

I mean crows finished bottom in 2020. The crows fans actually thought they would get pick 1 or 2 with losing Brad Crouch as a free agent.

The crows got an early 2nd rounder as compo. So pick 20- 23.

I can see Allen gone and eagles get pick 5 compo pick
If you can see us getting pick 5 then you're just revealing that you don't actually know how free agency compensation works.

Brisbane board is actually worse

I got banned from the Brisbane Board for making the following comment " No chance Andrew Rains can tag Dusty "
Andrew Raines played for Richmond so i knew the type of player he was and clearly Dusty was dusty.
Its been10 years - Still banned

Brisbane board and their mods were the most trigger happy of them all and dont think much has changed

Thank you, I hope it was me who got you. No one disrespects Andrew Raines on my watch and gets away with it.

And your eagles mods abuse their power on that eagles board. I won't name any names, but one eagles mod doesn't like me one bit
Your late night posting is way better suited to the main board, more eyes on it.
From what I've seen the WCE board is one of the more liberal ones on the website when it comes to opposition supporters although maybe Briztoon has changed that 🤣

Imagine actually thinking Oscar doesnt justify band 1 compo on his own 🤣🤣🤣

Have you guys not seen the types of players getting band 1 in recent years? Allen is far more deserving

It comes down to salary.

Brisbane's cap would be fairly tight, so I doubt Allen is going to get megabucks.

While I have this pencilled in as band 1, that's mostly due to me thinking the AFL will put their fingers on the scales to help out a basket case club without being blatant about it and giving them bonus picks for approaching North levels of sucking (and they wont want to do that because WCE won a flag fairly recently).

If they go purely on merit, band 2 would certainly be an option.

Band 2 wouldn't be an option for Brisbane because that doesn't get them their man. I still think it'll either be an absolute minimum value band 1 compo contract or no offer at all.

You cant drop 1.5 mill+ with a tight cap. It should be tight but its obvious it isnt... which is a worry

He'll be a genuine Coleman Medal prospect again at whatever club he goes to. Probably AA again.
Considering he has only managed 30 goals in a season once in his career, this looks pretty optimistic.

2023 is pretty clearly the outlier in an otherwise average career to date.

He'll have much better delivery at Brisbane

Brisbanes gaming the system foremost are they not? Without the pick 2 cherry we would basically just keep Oscar Allen and match the contract offer Brisbane are giving and move on.

If we got rid of the compensation system tomorrow, Brisbane dont sign Oscar Allen is the core outcome. Eagles keep Oscar Allen on a 6 year deal because we can easily afford it and dont get pick 2. Brisbane Lions end up with literally zero

For some reason Eagles are the ones seen as benefiting the most from this when in reality we are giving something up to get something. Brisbanes giving up nothing to get something

Yes and no.

Brisbane are giving up cap space. They are potentially giving up above market value to ensure they get their man, we get our compo and no trade is required. Realistically our contract offer is driving this. We want to pay $x which would be worth a band 2 or 3 pick for a free agent, Brisbane are prepared to pay enough for it to be band 1. It's a ridiculous system that is no no way "restricted" free agency. If we aren't prepared to match the offer we really shouldn't be compensated for it.

We haven't seen what FA looks like without compo because the AFL introduced it with compo straight up and haven't changed it for 13 years. If it was 2011 the two clubs would need to work out a trade. In 2025 with the draft the dog's breakfast that it is and an academy prospect coming through what would that even look like, a future first from the side currently 3rd?

The outlier of 2023 is that he was actually available.

Showed plenty in 2021 as a third tall forward and still being used a bit in the ruck and back to plug holes, then missed all of 2022 with an ACL. Last year he played one game and got injured, then came back in round 16 and from then on kicked 20 goals in 10 games. This year he came in playing like a busted then started to hit form around round 9/10 and of course got injured again.

The risk isn't ability, it's availability. If he plays 23 games for the Lions next year he will kick 40-50 goals.

They're offering Oscar Allen 1.5M+ ?

Seriously?

LOL.

I shouldn’t be telling you this, but just between you and I, we don’t have a cap.
