A point that has not been raised is If these players had of been drafted to North would they be the player they are today ?
Who are the development coaches and are they any good ?
I think maybe the club not only has to look at Rawlings ( I really dont rate him ) But also the development coaches as well
Too many of the kids seem to get to a certain level and plateau

But when you draft personality wise and can find those that have their own intestinal fortitude then they will push themselves to become the best they can no matter what.

My comment was specifically in relation to him being blamed for selecting *** over NWM which is a ludicrous statement and an example of some of the ridiculous things he gets blamed for which aren't his fault.

Yep, our recruiting and trading for the last 10 years has been shit house and deserves criticism, but I've never understood the viewpoint that with better drafting in hindsight would have fixed our problems.

Gavin Brown who had a long stint and was unimpressive left at the end of 2023, Michael Barlow hasn't moved the needle much IMO.

The whole system in the footy department is stuffed though.

The irony of having someone at the club with the surname "Barlow"......

Yes. Very fair point. We changed the development system/coaches with Barlow leading it when Clarko came on board.
Some around here suggested we spent too much on development coaches rather than another assistant coach.
I'm not sure we'll truly know how much impact Barlow and those coaches have had until probably 2 years time when those kids he first started on have had 4-5 years in the system. There can be a lag time when they pop.

1. Rawlings departs (even it means he's just replaced by Thursfield)
2. Restructuring of football coaching panel (e.g introduction of a newly created elevated assistant role)
3. Change in assistant and development coaching personnel
4. Bolster S+C under Kevin White

Was surprised there were that many Cardiac Surgeons in the DR. Can he be seconded into NMFC to assess how many of our players and coaches have an actual heart after the slop that was served up last week against the Cats? Pinky and Chom are excluded from the above activity.
