Probably goes between 15 to 30 range. He's probably a little bit of a stretch but there aren't many small forwards around and modern footy requires a couple of good ones these days.
What’s your ideal scenario? Keep Collard?
Didn’t get a lot of it on the weekend pre-sub but a couple of very deft touches/knock ons. Just want to see him with some continuity

Well I don’t think it’s controversial to say he is a very good footballer.
A forward that has kicked over 30 goals ZERO times.

Has kicked 30 once, outside of that he has only kicked 20 or more 3 times.

Played over 20 games in a season only once.

Second best season is 18.

Career averages of
11 disposals
3 marks
2 tackles

Career high for tackles in a game is 6 - Hardly a Ross prototype up forward
Career high for dispoals is 21
Career high for goals is 4

Just a real average footballer.

If he didn't occasionaly sit on heads or kick goal of the year contenders he would be out of the league.

Richmond at their best puts you infront of 60k+ every week.

Dusty might be the greatest of this generation. But it goes hand in hand.

Reid and his agent want him set up for life hence asking west coast to agree to a $2m a season 10 year deal. You cannot rule out Richmond if what he wants is a talented young list and potential to make absolute bank at the same time.
I don’t see it but stranger things have happened.

My wife and her family are all made tigers fans so I hope he does go there, beats the hell out of Hawthorn who I hate with a passion.

If I see Liam Ryan playing for the Saints at any stage I will fair dinkum eat an entire bucket of sand with a fork. Just plain yuck

Hard pass for me.

Surgery on both hammies in 2023/24.

Behind Higgins in almost every metric, including career games, but 3 years older.

Not defensively strong, which a key aspect of what we'd be looking for to replace Butler

Bit of off-field stuff over the journey.

WC would be looking for draft capital, they wouldn't be throwing him away for a token 4th rounder or anything.

Persevere with Collard, or find a better option who suits the age demographic if Collard wants out.
18 goals 19 behinds and 37 tackles from 16 games.

In the worst side in the comp

Also,12 direct goal assists which would be 6th for us.

Higgins or Butler isn’t my comparison. It would be like having another Max Hall in the side in my eyes.

For once, let's just not pick up other peoples scraps.

Lets focus on just tipping the odds in our favour by going out and stockpiling as much young talent that we can and develop the lights out of them, so that instead of us going panning for gold with other teams, they come to us and pick off our scraps, giving us more picks to stockpile again and then on and on we go.

Unless they're young enough that we can get 10+ years out of them, don't bother

Happily losing Marshall and then getting excited about landing a patchy half forward at the same age is peak St Kilda when it comes to trade period.

Always undervalue what we have and overvalue any shiny new toy that gets linked to us :tearsofjoy:
Happy losing Marshall for the right price… after bringing in the biggest FA on the market who plays the same position and is years younger.

They’re not comparable.

I think it’s more likely Marshall stays than leaves anyway. And less than likely that Ryan comes unless collard requests a trade.

Calm down and stop squawking. No-one has any contracts in front of them but if you can't see the logic behind not spending too much of your cap on a few players that aren't elite. You mustn't be much of an accountant.
Give me the alternatives we haven't tried.

You shout from the ramparts with no solutions.
You sound like a Greens politician, all grievance but no solution to the issue at hand.
The impotent are always pure.
As for accountants, you don't even understand the concept, the profession deals in history, a snapshot of the financial past that enables decision makers to plot the future. It is not an accountants role to map out future strategy.
This is why you never put an accountant in charge of your business.
Anyway don't diss accountants. I don't come to your workplace and kick the sailors ***** out of your mouth, rent boy 🤣

Absolutely bookmarked

West Coast would absolutely rob us blind if we do that as a trade :tearsofjoy:

a 20 year old that we invested a top 30 pick on AND who looks to have all the tricks you want from a small forward.

For a fairly injury prone, hot and cold flaky forward.

Even if Collard never develops into anything special and never kicks more than 30 goals in a season.

West Coast get maybe 10 years of service to our 3-4, and then we'll have to go and pay overs just to secure another small forward when Ryan's hammys give in :tearsofjoy:

You better head to Specsavers then

I think Ryan is a very good at giving you bang for possession. I think he gives you a very good option for a few minutes a quarter as a dynamic onball threat.

If you want to talk stats. Why are you not talking about the fact that over his 121 game career, he averages:

1.21 Goals PG
2.12 scores PG

And they increase comfortably in west coasts only 3 good seasons he played in. His last 4 seasons they have been utterly shit.

No arguments from me, very jealous of you lot 😂
(Although I was a reader not a tv watcher)
My generation (which I had to google) are a bunch of pussies for the most part. Being raised by the softest gen in history will do that I guess
Was talking about the little black box in your hand you feckless mid ranged IQ'ed numpty 🤣🤣🤣.
Yup boomers are the biggest soft ***** ever, but rich entitled soft ***** using all the world's resources for an easy life and leaving you them/theys to clean it up, but not before complaining endlessly about everything before inheriting mummy and daddy's boomer fortune 😘

We didn’t get a lot out of anyone up to that stage in the match.

He’s been finding more of the football at sandy so that’s a positive, his skills are right up there. I’m not sure what his problem is, clearly he’s been frustrated with his form. It mind sound a bit left field but I’d turn him loose with a few basic instructions. You do you, just make sure you chase and tackle.

It would be easy to drop him again but I’d persevere, 1 breakout game could be the making of him.

Aleer isn’t much of a player at present,

I think the idea with Aleer is more that acquiring him frees up Wilkie to be Wilkie again.

Maybe the Saints are chatting to Silvagni as well?

Howard fairly likely to be kept another year. Unless they did say get the Aleer /SOSOS Combo.

As long as we keep Nas, TDK, Aleer, SOSOS and Ryan (for Collard) would combine to make a large difference in 2026.
Plus our first pick on best available mid.

Mind you I think that we may well win three more games, while the Dees, games and with Dees, Blues and Port will sink so our 1st pick may blow out to 12-15th.

If we pick up TDK + Aleer would we be able to play a spine of:

Aleer
Caminiti
TDK
Marshall
King

Or would that be too tall? It would also have the added benefit of freeing Wilkie, Sharman and Owens up where they would be matched up on smaller players they can potentially exploit.
