How, exactly?
Because you get looked after non stop. That clown Watson has become a serial cheat by ducking and the umpires are doing nothing to prevent it by not calling it out. It’s pretty well known that Stevic will gift you free kicks any chance he can.

Maybe you can borrow danster’s dictionary after he’s finished with it.

Hawthorn played well and the difference was the home ground advantage.
Day is so important for their team and is their best player without a doubt. He is such a gun.
What a career he would have had without the injuries.

Crows were tougher and made better decisions also your tall forward had a much bigger impact than ours.

Your best players are in better form than ours also.

Window is just opening for the Crows imagine if you get Nasiah next season.

Looks like Day might be injured again disastrous for us if he is.

Difference was Adelaide took their chances late. Rankine converting from near the boundary and Walker twice from 50 out near the boundary was pretty much the difference

There wasn't alot in it, which should give Hawks fans some confidence. I get no one wants to lose, and at this end of the season with a tough draw, any close loss is a missed opportunity.

It's been cancelled due to rain

Just a note about the Rankine incident. Let's presume the ump called ;play on'. That would leave Rankine free with Sicily 2 metres away.

Doubt that Rankine would have the talent to manufacture a goal from that, would need a special level of skill :)

OTOH, bringing a free kick back after a player plays on and kicks a point is very dodgy. And if excused by saying the umpire didn't call advantage, then there's no argument for the Rankine decision, is there?
Rankine skipped backwards instinctively when he saw Sicily coming towards him, but even then he didn't go off the line which was why the ump called a 50 and not play on.

Nice to see some reasoned posts.

BTW, I hadn't seen Dan Curtain play apart from highlights. You have a good one there, great size to him too.

I hope you guys go a long way come finals.

Was that before or after Milera received a hand to the face and got called HTB which allow another inside 50??? The chances would have level the score if they had been goal instead of point so I'm not sure what you meant by "well ahead". We had more scoring shot in the end and also played off a 6 days break in massive wet deck and you guys getting 3 goals directly from 50/50 calls.
It was a horrible game of umpiring both ways. One they’d like to forget, often inserted themselves unnecessarily aswell.

3rd away game we have lost on the road against another top 8 contender when leading at 3/4 time.

Win 1 of those and we probably play finals the Freo one in particular hurt.

Just not quite good enough this year for various reasons.

How can you not see Rankine play on..are you watching something else.
Were YOU watching something else? Rankine did not go forward of the mark. Rankine did not move left or right of the mark. Rankine's only movement was back away from the goals, on the line. Rankine did motion to handball, but he didn't handball. That's not play on.

By the actual rules, Rankine did not play on. Period. The umpire did not call play on. Correctly, by the rules.

Sicily went over the mark. 50 metre penalty, every time. Every day of the week. By the rules.

It's a mix of overregulation, bad rules, ego, inconsistent enforcement of rules and bad culture. It's always funny how umpires give coaching advice, when they're suppose to be rule enforcers only. I don't understand how criticism of the umpires in general means to you that a person hates the sport. I think you're deflecting. The Crows have gotten stiffed by umpires in matches, I don't like that, either, that's my point, I don't like seeing teams getting screwed over by bad rules or inconsistent frees. Like, I couldn't enjoy that St Kilda win against Melbourne because the umpires essentially handed them the victory with that terrible 666 rule they don't even penalize 99% of the time.

The conversation on this thread is overwhelmingly about the umpires.

Ginnivan embarrassing himself. No surprises there.

I don’t have a problem with Ginnivan 90% of the time.

You’re in a media driven industry, and you have built your brand on being controversial and antagonistic. You can’t then complain when the attention then comes. Calling someone who’s doing their job “embarrassing” feels disrespectful to me.
