Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

You know its funny, I used to think all those on our board complaining about a lack of mongrel on our list were off in fairy land... But I've come to accept they were spot on now.

So many of our players happy just playing footy and getting paid.

The sad thing is the ones rumoured to want out are the ones who probably care about winning the most.

Could very well be the main reason they want out...

I don’t have insights on what the process was but if that’s what McRae went through then it’s reasonable to assume the other candidates, including Voss, did that as well.

All I’m saying is I trust my mail that Voss didn’t impress GW for his part. Whether that has any bearing on his survival now, who can say?

Crippa's value to them won't just come from his own on field output.

That club has been a basket case for years, a player like Cripps wanting to come to them, leading their younger players could be invaluable to them.

Not to mention, he is obviously highly regarded at Carlton as well as contracted so Eagles will need to pay a premium.

This is why I think their 2026 1st is very reasonable. Right now, it's an unknown for us, and therefore a big risk.

But if they think they're going to get their hands on say a pick 10 in a shit draft and offer that up then that just won't cut it.

I think it makes sense that it's Walsh...

Very competitive kid so more likely than not, a lack of reaction/caning would have been very surprising.

Probably cracked the shits with his team mates too (not sure if he's the type to let them know about it or not) and would make sense that frustration boiled over as the season went on...

When I said ‘who may or may not be rumoured to want out’, that was probably a cute way of phrasing ‘is strongly rumoured to be gone’.

As Coona rightly noted, Cripps would be invaluable to the Eagles in many ways.
As a mentor that guided and brought the best version of Reid to the table would be worth the investment just in itself …

Look GW is a smart operator.
He will know the issues. Not sure he will be too fussed with guys talking about looking around..he would have seen it plenty of times.
His job is make the right changes which gives the list a chance to compete.
Flags arnt won solely on talent anymore..game plans / style more important. It's why he will know get things right esp the style and theres enough talent to challenge...we could swap our bottom so called 6 with those of pies crows lions hawks cats whoever..wouldn't make a difference .
His real job is then to sell it to the whole footy department..and if u know anything bout GW if ur not on board ur out.

Not having a go at anyone in particular, but I certainly don't believe in the club messiah philosophy that we have fallen in love with previously. Players such as Judd, Coaches, CEO's and Presidents - still ring true. GW seems to be another, and I am very, very sceptical.

I also just can't see how we could seriously expect to believe to be competing by losing, TdK, JSoS and trading Charlie, Cripps and any other experienced player you want to add to this list. We've seen what the delisting's and trades of some experience players over the past 2 years, let one the injuries and other issues have done to us this year. No-one can save a team from such changes.

I hate to say it but the more that’s being said the more terrified I am that we’re going to blow it up completely. If we trade Cripps Charlie Tdk and Jsos in one off season then forget any sort of bounce back, that’ll be the soul of the club gone, if it isn’t already.
