Things that please me - Part 6

I have a water bottle on my work desk. I think it's around 800 mL and I fill it up a couple of times a day. If I am at home I will just use a glass.

I do find it curious that people lug around those giant water bottles that hold over 2 litres. Don't mean to humblebrag about the size of my house but the kitchen is maybe 8 metres away. Not exactly crossing the desert with Moses just to get a drink. What are these people preparing for? A 1.9L Yeti bottle is $150 and keeps drinks cold for days. Can only imagine how handy that is in an office environment.
I'm the problem, it's me.

I have a 2L monstrosity from My Mate Dug, granted it was a gift and we used the bonus little waterbottle for my eldest for school, but I find it handy to hit my goal of drinking roughly 2L of water a day by filling in the morning. With some ice and the insulation I have crispy water all day long. I left it in the car last year when we were at Santa's Wonderland and even after 4hr in the baking sun the ice hadn't melted, and that pleased me.

Pain in the ass to lug around? 100%, that's why at work in the office I just use a 600ml bottle I got from a takeaway meal deal sometime in the past few months.

Yeah those water bottles are very expensive.

If I'm hiking I put a few bottles in the freezer before hand, then put them in box ready to take to recycling.

I'm assuming that Daniel Johns prefers bottled water since the water out of the tap is very hard to drink.

Thats Good Robert Deniro GIF

I dehydrate easily!

On a normal work day I reckon 500-750ml give or take is plenty. Sometimes I just get more thirsty - today I easily drank 2 litres, 750ml during one break and 1.5 litres across lunch.

As I tried to say in a previous post. I've previously just purchased a 1ltr bottle of water (eg: woolworths bottle) and would pour it into my drink bottle when requiring a refill.

The whole you must drink xxx glasses/litres a day is just bullshit - sure staying hydrated is important, but it’s no different from food, your body lets you know when you need it
and a lot of food counts towards your hydration

but then there are people out there that never drink water

So you're going to go hiking, you freeze some bottles. Then when they freeze you put them in the recycling box?

When my wee wee turns to this rich colour, its time for a drink

My works water system is unreliable in that something is in the water, thus unsafe to drink. I've done varied things in recent times (either a single drink bottle, or a pre purchased bottle of water + a drink bottle, 2 drink bottles etc).

I've recently added a third drink bottle which holds 1 litre, I'll retain all 3 bottles for now. But I'll probably eliminate one so I don't over drink during the day.

2 bottles for me. Easier to manage

A lot of weight gain is about people being dehydrated and mistaking thirst for hunger.

Another thing is eating slowly. I used to eat like my dad who grew up with war rationing and ate like it was his last meal on earth. Slowing down allows your body to realise when it is no longer hungry.

Tall crispy glass of water first thing in the morning too!

Nah bugger that, I eat fast and I still love my food. (And I am not a fatty).

I eat dinner fast because I like my cooked food hot. Other meals, sandwiches etc more leisurely.

Same with water but it should be warm.
