Sounds like there's a bunch of succession plans in the works but I just got to ask, is that picture of Enright from when the Dees beat the Cats in his 300th game? Wouldn't it be so funny if he then became our coach!

Toumpas and Lamumba are in the background of the picture and they only played together against Geelong in Enright's 300th game loss.

How did that Demons team get up? Toumpas, Aidan Riley, Roh Bail, Chris Dawes, Pencil Spencer, Billy Stretch.

Interesting to see that Troy Pannell was the umpire. Not saying that had anything to do with the result, of course! It probably had more to do with Bernie Vince getting 38 & 2.

Buckley being a solid media performer is pretty attractive to me, we don't have the "diehard" base of supporters (lost what, 15k members recently?), we also aren't as attractive to sponsors, being able to "sell" the club is pretty important imo.

Might just be personal bias I fall asleep when Horse talks.

Yeah. Buckley was one kick away from a flag. People need to stop with the binary flag=good, no flags=shit.

The things I like about Buckley is that he is a very strong character, has an excellent footy brain, has high expectations, craves success and has essentially taken a side from the top and rebuilt it into a threat.

The question marks I have on him is that he couldn’t get it done at a far better resourced club than ours, so how does he fare with our shitshow. But you may as well lump any other experienced coach available into that basket too.

Another plus is he seems genuine in his quest to improve on his flaws as a coach during his first stint. He was probably thrown into coaching too quickly, he's still relatively young.

I don't know if he would work out and we may be better off going after a "next gen" assistant but I have a good feeling about Buckley for some reason.
