Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Feeling comfortable with my info now.
Think both these next appointments will be great.
FD could be announced soon.
FM most likely post finals.
Playing a straight bat from here.
Corey and Jimmy?

Do you think we'll get Skipworth in too?

If most of our assistants are gone but Voss stays I can live with that. But little to no changes going into the 2026 season? Disaster.
All except Luke Power for mine. All new support staff is about the only thing that'll lift my spirits (not important to anyone but me obviously but 🤞).

Who's FD?

And just like that, C4 hangs up the boots from the rumour game.

Big thanks to all my fans and all the fellow posters who came along for the ride and enjoyed the content.
Harden up!

Port Adelaide have underperformed considering the stars they’ve had and his sides shat the bed in two home prelims while having the advantage of a bubble mind you.

No thank you. I want fresh ideas

Hinkley in some kind of role doesn't mean "no fresh ideas".

A bloke who has pretty much always had total buy in from his players, who has made finals more often than not, and when making finals has has made a prelim more often than not, is an asset we should consider. Amongst other personnel changes.

Right now, I'll settle for playing finals. Walk before we run. Flags are the goal, but thats flags plural. We need to fix the joint and start mixing it with the good sides as our baseline. Do that and success will follow. Horse before cart and all that.

I have a Port supporting mate who's been saying to me all year that Butters and Hinkley are both strong chances to be at Carlton next year. I have no idea where he has been getting that information and I have chosen not to believe it all year because with Butters I thought it fanciful and with Hinkley I didn't want to believe. But the Hinkley part at least seems to have some legs.
I’ve worked it out what GW master plan is -

🚨 BOMBSHELL MEGA TRADE 🚨

Hinkley to the Blues to bolster the football department and help Vossy.

Butters to follow suit to reunite with Kenny and requests a trade to Carlton.

Walshy traded to Hawthorn for our original first round pick.

Harry traded to the Swans for their first pick.

Wanganeen Milera requests trade to PAFC.

Butters to Carlton for 2 x 10 picks (One via hawks and one via the Swans)

Leaves us with the TDK compo pick to use in the draft to select Josh Lindsay.

PAFC on trade those 2 top 10 picks to St.Kilda for Wanganeen Milera.

We walk away with Butters, Lindsay as well as Dean and Ison.

Easy peasy, everyone is happy!! Thank me later guys 😎😉😂

I'm sorry but I am finding this decision so difficult to rationalise.

The only explanation I can think of is that GW buys into the tail wagging the dog theory, has done this to take back power from the playing list and give authority within the club to the coach/football department.

Nothing else makes sense to me.

A massive problem is that when we get the bloody pill our players are so far out of position (often as far back as defensive side of centre) that we are busting our asses just to make a forward movement.

That's got to be coaching given it happens every week.
I agree that it is a coaching/player thing that our players do not hold position well and we get sucked into ball watching. I think there is an element of confidence lacking.
An example is Charlie wheeling on the F50 for a goal rather than taking his time. There is no need to rush as we dont then get time to set up defensively for the rebound if he misses.
Also those types of shot on goal by Charlie are a definite confidence action. When they come off his confidence skyrockets. You can see it in his subsequent acts and the flow on effect to the rest of the team.

You take BF poster hysteria far far too seriously. Voss has a year to go, there are no better immediate alternatives is a pretty easy read of the situation.

oh and whining players who wanna go - can just go no biggie.

If Voss and all assistants were sacked would that money go towards next years soft cap?

Dow developed a serious infection in his knee after suffering severe bone bruising. He had 3 operations to clean the infection up and only became available to train at the end of June. He played the last 10 games of last year and was looking good.
Another untruth.
Dow was dropped and played Rounds 17 and 18 in the VFL. He returned to the side and was dropped again (Round 22) but got a reprieve when Phillipou was ill. So he played the last 4.
As I said, the story gets distorted when the facts are misrepresented.

You have no idea what I do and don't take seriously.

There are plenty of highly credentialed assistants or coaches out of work who would die to be the head coach of our club.

Yeah I agree, but are we really going to turf out half of our list and sign up for another ten year rebuild? At some point, if every player wants to leave because of Voss, maybe Voss is the problem as he is the common denominator in all of those relationships.

Have you looked at our financials? We can afford to pay it.

Not only do I not know- I don't care to know - but do carry on. I really dont get all the 'angst' on here - we are all casual watchers.

People caning Hinkley would do well to compare Port’s last 10 years v ours.

Flags are hard to win. Best you can do is be thereabouts and hope you snag one.

Must say a couple of very noisy posters have gone very quiet... so much for the legendary ITK's
All about them dominating the narrative, and there's a few former members from here who are victim's of (one in particular) poster who mascaraed as being 'in the loop' but now are exposed as nothing more than typical, gelded, key board hero's. You know who you are, your the bully pal, and you appear to have sooked off again
Liked for the use of the word 'gelded'.

I am sure someone will correct me. But I’ve always understood the player culture under Hinkley at Port Adelaide has been good? As in, they would run through brick walls for Ken.

If that’s the case, a Hinkley appointment probably suggested player culture is going to be a big focus.
Very good. The players love him.

He had the ideal setup: the playing group loved him and the board had his back.

It wasn’t until the pressure from fans and media reached boiling point that the club was finally forced to act - not unlike the Arab Spring of 2010.

Maybe just a bloke who has a clue about - you know - football. Still it is just a rumor - we could do worse.
