Meaningless game that poster on here said vs the Suns. Yeah right. One loss and it was a 6 point difference with hard tests to come. Resting players was stupid and all this nonsense about hard training loads. Were not good enough 4 losses to top 8 teams in the last 5 weeks and getting nowhere near it the last two and smashed vs the Suns for 3 quarters.

Adelaide will belt us next week.

Like most on here today im so angry at this football club

We were flying

Praying for a miracle win next 2

If so are we guaranteed top 4?
I would worry about making the top 8 let alone the 4, we can still miss.

No chance we beat Adelaide so it will come down to the Melbourne game, if we lose that then fair chance we miss the 8

sure is - yet a win - against any of Gold Coast, Freo, Brisbane or now Hawthorn, would still have left it up to us to just win and finish top.

Last week was almost a must win game, but without that one going our way, this really was a must win.

Never good when you're banking on other results to go your way - especially when those results are an upset!

Look at the look on his smug, flog head. Can barely contain laughter. No concern for the opponent's health.

Hate the campaigner.

I’m not sure how many of you were at the game but the Howe knockout was horrific and resulted in 5 mins of agonising silence from the crowd. I found it very upsetting and I don’t know the guy personally, just know what he’s been through.

I think if it was another player other than Howe then we may have reacted a bit differently, but we’ve seen this before with him and we know, the players know, how devastating it was for him.

In my opinion, the trauma of this incident just knocked the stuffing out of our players and took them mentally out of the game. You could just feel it.

The fact that it happened in the first minute of the game made it so much worse too.
there definitely was a bit of that, all this time waiting for Howe to return to sure up this backline and improve the others around him only to see if fall apart in the first minute. supporters felt it and im sure the players did to

but fact is, we havent played well for close to 2 months, just doing enough. coach hadnt identified changes that needed to be tried re personal and positioning of that personal. now we have 2 weeks to sort it

I’m starting to believe that some players are disgruntled about their contracts and the contracts of our recruits. 🙃
If they are disgruntled, they aren't doing their cause much good by dishing up that effort

didn't see any of our blokes go harder at him either. Would have been nice to see them give it to him a bit.

I teared up watching Howe get hurt again (I'm a softie).

Can only imagine the impact on the players.

Backline is a bunch of headless chooks without Howe, and Fly even admitted it.

Extreme lack of leadership down there when Howe isn't playing, which is bizarre considering that's where our captain plays !
it's damning that the captain is not leading the backline

But that all happened on and after the Freo game? They were happy before then?

Timing makes that unlikely. Resentment regarding contracts wouldn't fester within that kind of timeframe.

Not saying all is right at the club, just that this is unlikely.

Look at the boofhead. Need I say more? I can only hope that mob get cleaned up by a team that's not easily intimidated, and they still miss the finals. They have more w***ers in their team than any other club by a fair margin.

Fly's presser

I know you're a very positive guy, but that's probably your worst performance for the year in all respects. How concerning is the trajectory that your team is going at the moment?

Your last six quarters if you go back to the Brisbane match after half time, it's probably since that point it's just gone downhill hasn't it?

I know you said you don't look at form from previous weeks, but that system that you spoke about tonight, was that something you knew? Was that something you saw for the first time for a long time tonight?

What impact did losing Howe early have on the team?

Is Howe alright? What's the initial prognosis?

For the third time in four weeks now without Jeremy Howe down there, your backline looks disorganised and under the pump. That must be very concerning?

Why did Nick Daicos start on the bench?

It looked like Nick Daicos was getting some treatment to his neck. Is there any injury there?

The intensity tonight by the Hawks, they really brought the heat early which put you on the back foot particularly with your handball game which has been a feature as that was your strength a number of weeks ago. It now seems to have become a bit of a weakness?

Also that contested ball element, which has been a feature but Hawthorn really controlled that game right from the outset.

Collingwood only had 42 tackles for the game in a game where you went down by 64 points?

You obviously leaked a lot of marks inside 50. I think it was 18 [tonight] and you're obviously up against probably the most ominous forward line next week without Jeremy Howe. Are you confident the backline can turn things around?

Do you really embrace that Adelaide challenge next week?

How do you explain the loss of confidence and form?

You think the players are drifting into 'outcome'?

How much is that the system you talk about and how much of that does it relate to all those many unforced errors made by your players. Are they linked in a way?

You said you're getting 'internal' and you're getting to your head, so what can you do to change that mindset within a week?

Do you remain supremely confident of what this season can achieve for this team?

Him clapping his hands while speaking about tackling he was amped af

Question for those that would know better than I, I heard that gastro ran through the club during the week, is this the case? This would explain a number of moves made by the coaches and how we played (low tackles low energy mistakes we generally don't make etc).
