Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Geelong 'ITK' poster on their board saying Saints believe TDK is staying now...

WTF IS GOING ON???

The Big Lebowski What GIF by MOODMAN

Another rumor that's been doing the rounds where my reaction mirrors yours.

Surely they find a way to do TDK and NWM.

Surely they're too far down the road with TDK to burn him. They struggle to get FAs as it is. Do that to TDK and they'll never get anyone to go there again.

I don’t claim to know many Saints fans. But the two I know best are livid at the idea of getting TDK but losing NWM and Marshall. They would much prefer to keep the players they’ve got.
I don't think TDK has much to do with NWM tbh. They have enough money for both. Seems if NWM leaves it is more about going home than money. And they wouldn't have offered TDK 1.7 that early in the season if they couldn't comfortably afford it.

FWIW, I think the TDK staying rumor has completely emanated from that bloody video from after the game last week where, allegedly, TDK said "I'm staying" when it was in reference to staying the night in Perth and flying back the next day.

People have taken it and run with it.

It's been all over Reddit, Facebook, etc.

Dropping pitto and going with tdk in ruck... has this added to this?

If TDK’S mid-late season effort levels are the new norm, he’s not worth his current $$, let alone the $$$ we offered or the stupid $$$$$ the Aints have come with.
Our list is top-heavy enough and I’d expect that one of GW’s top priorities after HoF and coaching support is to work towards flattening out our salary cap a bit.
Between that and the message that they can’t just sacrifice another coach this time, i wouldn’t be surprised if some of the prima donna element walks.

If he stays then everyone would hope/expect him to play like a man possessed next year.
I do feel a bit sorry for him though. The sort of eff-off life changing money they threw at him would mess with anyone’s head, and he’s had to cop that and everything that went with it for most of the season.

Me either. If he stays, he needs to sack his manager
Why??
It's the manager's job to get the best deal for his client..
JSOS is a free agent, and this next contract will be his biggest, and set him and his family up..
If he stays, it's probably on more coin.. and then his manager has done his job.

The way the filth fans on twitter are turning on Houston, we might be able to get him along with a second round pick from the filth as a salary dump.

But I thought the Collingwood supporters were so outstanding and supportive, you know … everything the disgusting, toxic Carlton supporters should aspire to be !!
Of course, it’s got nothing to do with the current standings of the teams at any given time 😏
In all the madness of this season, the narrative that the Carlton supporters were the problem was a bizarre standout !!
The club, on and off the field, just need to raise the bar and do their bloody jobs to the required levels and they’ll witness unparalleled support from the faithful …

Voss was pretty confident in his presser yesterday SOS and TDK would be at Carlton next year. I doubt he’d be so willing to engage in public dialogue on the topic without some knowledge on the likelihood of that happening.
Listening to the presser, I didn’t get that impression. Maybe I missed something but it seemed to me that he straight batted a response.
He said we’ve got 15 days left of this season and we’ll deal with the rest after that.

And as if he's going to say "yeah we think they're gone"

oooh. That was wrights presentation. Back to what we do best. What even is a salary cap anyway

Has to right?

What message are you sending otherwise?

We would rather play a player leaving over our main ruckman into next year

Wouldn’t read that much into it.
Club keen to get TDK to 100 games. Better to get senior games into HOK. Pitto knows his place and has the comfort of another three years on contract.

This conclusion assumes that the only way to achieve that outcome was by the method they employed, which involved trashing his clients reputation with the fan base. I would wholeheartedly disagree with that.

First of all Jack hasn’t been the one announcing he’s speaking to other clubs, the media and that flog who coaches the filth has. Second players coming out of contract speak to numerous clubs as is there right being a free agent. It happens a lot it just doesn’t get made public and it doesn’t mean they are going to leave.
Likely his manager’s working the room/media.

JSOS wouldn’t be oblivious.

I can't believe he was ever put in the position...
Him talking about the effects of CTE isn't a new thing - how could it be viewed as anything other than a ridiculous decision to hire a man who has openly said he has degenerative brain damage in the media for 15 years.
A few pokes and prods from a former president and Diesel does his bidding.

JSOS would have been well looked after as CFC royalty had he stayed.

That’s gone once he leaves.

He doesn’t have that status anywhere else.

JSOS and TDK are gone, it is what it is but the salary cap relief will be enormous and allow us to target a free agent or two next year when have nothing left of our picks after Cody

Yep, don’t care about either going. TDK is not worth $1 million (so he’s free to take the Saints $1.7 million and kill their cap). And Jack Silvagni isn’t worth $700,000 after it took him ten years to find an established position and he still only played 13 games (in a career that has averaged 12.8 games per year).
