It seems a one way street from Trump
to Putin and in return.. what?

"Russia will face "serious consequences" if Vladimir Putin does not agree to a ceasefire following the meeting with Donald Trump. This was stated by the US president.

If the meeting is successful, Trump expects that he, Putin, and Zelensky will soon hold joint negotiations."
(from Baza TG)

Trump's who're mouth still spouting dribble he'll never follow up on.

Hell give Putin a few more months grace if Trump’s past actions are anything to go on.

Ukraine has changed war forever with their use of Drones and the internet.

Their ability to defend country when confronted with a far larger enemy completely shifts well established war paradigms. Russia and the US can espouse what they like - but it’s done, history will remember Ukraine as the innovator

Necessity is the mother of invention.

“Ukraine has transformed modern warfare.” To keep Cold War 2.0 from turning into something far worse, the United States and its allies must learn from Ukraine’s clever and creative warriors.”

...necessity is the mother of invention, Ukraine has made the most out of a makeshift military to outfight and outsmart what was once a superpower.

Currently, one of its key focus areas is artificial intelligence (AI)-powered solutions that enable smarter, faster and more accurate decision-making on the battlefield.

He noted that times of crisis like the war have replaced competition with collaboration among defence tech startups,

Not to ignore that of those who Ukraine has inspired, is unfortunately indeed the RF itself.

From ASTRA TG:

"Grandma, I'm coming home." Ukraine has brought home a young man who spent nine years in Russian captivity

During the exchange of prisoners and detainees between Ukraine and Russia, Bohdan Kovalchuk, who spent more than nine years in captivity, returned home, reports the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.

According to Kovalchuk's grandmother, they have already been able to talk on the phone, and she plans to go to Kyiv to meet her grandson. Bohdan called her at the first opportunity and said, "Grandma, I'm coming home."

Kovalchuk was detained in 2016 at the age of 17 in Yasynuvata, which is under the control of Russian occupation forces. He was heading to Toretsk to complete his studies and receive a diploma, but was detained by the military at a checkpoint.

Bohdan was accused of cooperating with the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as involvement in the sabotage of vehicles and a building of the occupation "police" created by the so-called "DPR" structures. In 2018, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and sent to a penal colony.

Ukraine sought Kovalchuk's release as a civilian hostage. On August 14, he was exchanged among more than 80 Ukrainian citizens returned home as part of a new exchange with Russia.

In total, according to Ukrainian authorities, 84 people returned from captivity on August 14. A distinctive feature of this exchange was that among those released were more than 50 civilian prisoners, many of whom had been held since 2014-17.

Ukraine sunk a cargo ship in the Caspian sea, the first time anything has been sunk there by Ukraine. Allegedly a freighter with drone parts from Iran.

Was just learning about this. Wondering if it was more likely a missile strike than a drone.

Has Ukraine got a missile that can go 1000+ kms? (and hit a ship). Probably not, so drones more likely.
It's claimed the updated Neptune can do it. I'm doubtful airborne drones can do enough damage to sink a tanker.

Jake thinks the real Putin did not turn up and he sent a body double. I am not convinced either way, but I hope it was a body double and the US discovered this. Would explain why the meeting was simply called off a few hours in without the planned lunch.

How humiliating for Trump if Putin could not be bothered to turn up.
