Buy/Sell Tickets Threads

The forum's basic rules on buying/selling tickets for the 2025 AFL Finals Series:

Q. Can I advertise my tickets on BigFooty?

A. Yes, but only on team boards and with consent of the board moderators.

Before starting these threads - check with the board moderators first. A thread might already exist.

Click the Moderators button top right of the forum thread list for a list of moderators.

The AFL Grand Final is a protected event under legislation and tickets are only permitted to be advertised/sold at no more than 10% of their face value.

GF Tickets advertising at more than 10% above their face value will be deleted when spotted. Continuance of any practice may result in account permanent bans.

Q. Can I post a thread on the main AFL board advertising the sale/purchasing of grand final tickets

A. No.

Only post buy/sell threads on
team boards. Any buy/sell tickets threads on the main board will be deleted. If you’re unsure please contact your board Moderator Super Moderator Administrator and seek further clarification

Q. What happens if I arrange to buy AFL Finals tickets from a BigFooty poster and it turns out to be a scam or the tickets are counterfeit?

A. BigFooty cannot do anything for you.

BigFooty does not warrant the sale of any tickets.
BigFooty does not solicit or generate fees for their sale. Each poster engaging in their purchase or sale does so solely at their own risk. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Or you could just sneak in...

After logging into that section on the App and pulling up my barcode info it specifies:

"Please see below your 2025 Membership Barcode/s for the Toyota Home & Away Season:"

So I expect that our current known barcodes are only for the H&A season, at the venues specified, as I know the barcode I can use for the MCG & Marvel is different to the barcode I received to use for Gather Round

I would expect to receive an email from the club over the next week in relation to finals detailing potential on sale dates, barcode info etc

** I hope you don't mind but I updated the thread title to make this a thread for all things finals tickets related

All new since canceled AFL membership
Assume GF Finals Tickets will be a lottery

The way club memberships work for the Grand Final is that once a team has qualified for a prelim final, the members will be provided with a specific time during which they'll need to enter the ballot

The time slot to enter the ballot will be based on if you're a P1, P2 or P3 member

The Week 1 Toyota AFL Finals fixture and ticket on-sale information will be confirmed on Wednesday night (27 August) following the conclusion of the final game of the home and away season - Gold Coast SUNS v Essendon.

Ticket on-sales will commence from Friday 29 August. Please keep an eye out for an email from the Club and on our Finals Hub page after the final match of Round 24 for all the ticketing details for Week 1 Toyota AFL Finals Series.

Geelong’s strong position heading into the finals gives them both a home-ground advantage and a crucial double chance, setting the stage for another exciting September campaign.

As announced last month:

- The AFL has today announced a price freeze on entry-level tickets for all matches across Weeks 1 – 3 of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series.

- Entry-level tickets for Weeks 1 – 3 have remained the same since 2016, with Weeks 1 and 2 frozen at $35 and Week 3 frozen at $65 for the 10th year in a row.

- "After a six-year entry-level price freeze, Grand Final ticketing has increased by four per cent on average across all categories to combat rising costs.

- All other categories in Weeks 1 – 3 of the Toyota AFL Finals Series will increase by four per cent on average.

- The most expensive Toyota AFL Grand Final ticket in 2025 will be $515, compared to $493 in 2024.

I can't remember if there was an increase last year, but apart from Cat 7 & Standing Room, all other tickets have increased in prices

If an updated version of the above is published I'll update to share that

I like how the AFL promote the price freeze on the entry level tickets for weeks 1 - 3 of the finals, without also mentioning that they've made major changes to how the MCG is now separated into the various 7 categories of tickets

For as long as I can remember, I've been buying tickets in the bay directly behind our cheersquad as that was deemed a 'Cat 7' seating - so $35 in the first couple of weeks of the finals & then $65 for the prelim final against Brisbane

Excluding the designated seating for the cheer squad, the rest of the seating with the arc (the area called, L1 behind the goals) is now a Cat 2 or Cat 3 seating as it was $92 - tickets in the Olympic Stand on the wing are only $9 dearer than those directly behind the goals at the back of M3, which is crazy

The only Cat 7 seating looks to be the back couple of rows of the top deck now

Be interesting to see what impact these significant price changes have on attendance

Minimal given we’re talking maybe 1000 seats max being recategorised
It's way more than 1000 seats that have been recategorised

The bays side the cheer squads would be Cat 6 and then beside those would be Cat 5 - for the whole of the ground level to be Cat 1 or Cat 2 seating is a significant change to pricing and it's a significant increase from what it was

For a seat that would have cost $35 last year to now cost $92 this year - so 2.5 times the price, it will price people out who may look to go to their teams finals over multiple weeks. I know people in previous years who've skipped the QF or SF to wait for the prelim final due to costs

You're also now looking at $60 to be sitting in the top deck - it's going to be cost prohibitive for some to attend with these increases

They have increased the number of seats which are now Cat 1, Cat 2 & Cat 3 seating, while reducing the number of seats which are Cat 5, Cat 6 & Cat 7

Wow that was a surprisingly quick process considering Crows vs Pies also goes on sale this morning (then I realised that game went on sale at 10am Adelaide time) logged in at 9.55am tickets completed by 10.05am. Clicked the Cheer squad price option and got in M2 (M3 is Cheer squad) and only paid $44 for each ticket I got for my group

Still the case. The Cheersquad is bay M3 and M33 at the other end. Had that confirmed by the club this morning.
We got two tickets in M4 for Cat 7 prices.

It wasn't letting me select the actual cheer squad seating, so I was trying the back of the bay like I normally do

The prelim last year I was M3, row W for $65

Trying that same location this morning at the back of M3 was coming up as $92 - other than the area they've deemed cheer squad, they've upped the costs for the level 1 seating

I agree; there are still $35 tickets available on the top deck as of tonight so it’s not like the cheap tickets sold quickly.

I always thought it weird there were cheap level 1 seats that were right next to very expensive seats; a big jump up between one bay.

Grand Final Ballot Information[ New

2025 Grand Final Ballot | Member Information

What a win against the Brisbane Lions on Friday night to secure our place in the Preliminary Final in two weeks time!

This is an exciting time for the Club, and we are pleased to provide important information to eligible members about how to access a ticket to the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final, should the Geelong Cats qualify.

As we have now progressed to the Preliminary Final, as an eligible member you will have the opportunity to register for a ticket to the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final via the member Grand Final ballot. Priority access for registrations will apply, based on your 2025 membership.

Registration for the ballot will be on Wednesday 10 September, 9am – 6pm AEST. This year, registrations can be made between 9am – 6pm. There are no individual priority group times.

On Tuesday 9 September, you will receive a further email confirming your priority group and your eligible barcode/s for registration.

Ahead of this information being shared, please see below other important details including important information regarding Accessible Registrations.

HANDY HINTS
- Member barcodes will only be able to access the same ticket type as the membership type. For example, an adult membership barcode will access an adult ticket. There are no junior tickets for the Grand Final, junior membership barcodes will access concession tickets.

- Each member barcode will be charged a $6.00 non-refundable fee at time of registration to cover administration costs.

- Members who wish to be allocated tickets together must register for the Ballot in the same transaction. (Maximum of eight (8) members together)

- Members in different priority groups who wish to attend together must register under the lower priority group. For example, a Priority 1 Member who wishes to attend with Priority 2 Members must register with them in Priority 2 and will be processed with them as part of Priority 2 (forgoing Priority 1 access). Please be aware that registering in a lower priority group may reduce your chance of securing a ticket.

YOUR REGISTRATION
- All members will be required to register through Ticketek should they wish to purchase a Grand Final ticket. We will email you the day prior to registration as a reminder with your barcodes and Ticketek link.

- We will also update the Registration Guide on the membership website with relevant links, information and barcodes.

- We want to emphasise that the only way to secure the opportunity to access a ticket for the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final is by registering for the ballot.

HOW DOES THE BALLOT WORK?
- Registration will be open for all priority groups between 9am-6pm. To retain priority, members must select the correct priority group from the dropdown options.

- It is the responsibility of the member to ensure the correct Priority Group is selected when completing registration.

- It does not matter what time you register on the day, as all registrations within each priority group will be randomised to determine the order of ticket allocation.

- If we were to win a Preliminary Final, Ticketek would, using an automated system, randomly allocate tickets to Priority 1 members who registered and then, randomly allocate the remaining tickets among Priority 2 and then Priority 3 members (subject to availability).

- At that time, members who are successful in obtaining a Grand Final ticket will automatically be charged for tickets via Ticketek without prior notification of the transaction. You must ensure you have enough funds on your nominated credit card to pay for all registered tickets as there will be no follow up if your credit card declines.

- Tickets will be allocated on a next best available basis and therefore members can receive either a reserved seat, restricted view seat or standing room ticket (subject to whether you nominated if you would accept standing room at the time of registration).

REGISTRATION GUIDE
Members, you need to do your homework and now's the time to prepare.
Read through the registration guide on our AFL Finals Hub.

ACCESSIBLE TICKET BOOKINGS & COMPANION CARDS
Members who have a medical requirement for access to accessible tickets, hold a companion card or wish to book in a group with other members who have an accessible requirement, will be issued with a new Grand Final Accessible Registration barcode.
