Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Presumably TDK, JSOS, E.Hollands and Gov.all gone. Gotta be approx 1.5 to 1.75M of salary cap. mobility created already. Fantasia, Durdin too May bring us to 2M +
Hopefully Austin is focused and well mentored to our needs.
For Butters perhaps?
Any decent Adelaide-born lads on the Sydney list that could satisfy a 3-way with Port and Swans involving Charles and Zak?

And 3 of our best kicks.

For that reason alone I hope we keep Elijah

So, you're telling me that you wouldn't do Charlie out for Reid in??
I’d have a good think about it.

Just depends where the club sees themselves though.

I’m still completely confused by whether the club thinks the list will take a number of years to retool or if they think a few changes are enough.

Dont want Gulden/Warner types.

Go all in to get Liam Jones back.

Forget the Charlie to Sydney talk
If you listen to logic, and to the own words of Wright, Voss and Charlie himself, and not to the feels and thoughts of online trolls and sh*t talking gutter rat ‘pundits’, there is no chance in hell Charlie will be going anywhere unless the Swans or any other club that wants him, is prepared to come in with a totally ridiculous offer and be serious about it.

The Swans have history of being serious...

I would much prefer to retain Elijah too, hopefully he is able to sort out his personal issues and focus on giving us his all.
A very talented player, quite strong in the hips too not easily pushed off the ball.
However has been distracted and dysfunctional.
Let’s hope his personal challenges, don’t overwhelm him.

You honestly think it would be for picks in the most compromised draft since G.C and GWS came in, not to mention how much rubbish there is in the draft...

This is the exact reason we are where we are, no vision, no risk taking, to much sentiment in conditional players with NO HEART...

This.

I'd prefer to keep Charlie but trading him for some 1sts to trade to Port for Butters could be desirable. They're about to rebuild and surely they'd rather get something this year vs. random compo next year. He fills a huge hole for us.

We could make do with a fwd line of Harry, Kemp, O'Keefe & Moir - fairly mobile & unpredictable, along with a more speedy midfield next year (Butters, Smith).

I think we had a little bit of foresight moving our 2025 pick up to get jagga in a super draft.

Pick 1 and 2 combined this year is going to get you Duursma, Sharp or Duff-Tytler. None of which would have made the top 15-20 last year.

Gibbs was at the tail-end of the career & was a go home choice rather than a $700k p/a pay rise choice.

TDK is really just beginning his career and probably didn't want to risk injury and a $1.7m a year salary along with that.
I mean... exactly?

Gibbs had every reason to throw in the towel, knowing that a season ending injury might be a career ending one. He had much more on the line than TDK, who is guaranteed many more years of employment as a tall in this sport. A sport in which ungainly and unco-ordinated talls are retained on lists for years, even feted as the next big thing.

He'd have been fine either way. Him choosing to drop off is deeply unprofessional, and I'm absolutely going to judge a person on what their actions.
