It was a hard watch.Today i learnt that the future is ****ing grim.
Especially if the Pro Yze, pro midfield posters have their way.
It's all on you now and you are in a rapidly shrinking minority. I hope you are happy. And I hope you are ready too because we keep receipts.
It is a great point that you make ... 5 first round picks missing from that side ... speed in the midfield is what is missing ... MRJ was sensational as a midfielder in the VFL earlier in the year ... it is lost on me why he isn't inserted into more centre bouncesIt was a hard watch.
But I’m looking forward to adding Lalor, Smillie, Sims, Faull, Alger, Gibcus, Trainor, Kmac2 into the mix.
The quicker these guys can get 50 games under their belt the better.

I think you're pretty close with that. I'd argue that the MC sees Mansell as established along with Brown. Young is performing and I'd slot him up a peg or two.Probably missing some players, but tried a rough classification of where I think players are at the moment.
You do need role players & backups but most in that column wouldn't really be missed. Mansell maybe doesn't deserve to be in that column but I'd argue the "hopefuls" have more potential. Likewise Young. Others like Short & Prestia are basically past their best.
Biggest group is the young players yet to fully establish themselves. I'm hopeful on all of these but some could still be busts. And yes, I'm still putting MRJ in this category hoping for a consistent break out season instead of the occasional tease.
I'm struggling to think who our best wings will be next year? I'm still hopeful of Sonsie making it....Clarke if injuries allow. Is it the right position for Trainor?

Yeah. Was going to put in a "finishing" column for Broad, Lynch, etc, but felt I had enough columns.Pretty good
I'd have swap Young and Gray and Blight is close to middle column
Short is established, but sliding
Mansell is an established small forward - good but not very good.
Prestia sometimes does turn it on, but he is definitely sliding, so although I don't agree on him, I don't disagree
The absolute lack of outside mids is a real issue. But also probably fairly easy to fix over time.
This article from the age written a couple of weeks ago lists Kozi as being out of contract. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl...players-in-the-afl-named-20250804-p5mk5n.html
Nice work, mate. Shows the challenges and opportunities for next year.View attachment 2405302
Thought it would be interesting to have a look at our depth chart now that the season has ended and we have a good idea of what positions Yze is looking at using players in.
One thing that stands out is just how little overall experience we have now with only 8 players with 150+ games to their names, which kind of explains why we have had a midfield unit built around Taranto Hopper & Prestia as the midfield & back line are the 2 areas where we have the most experience.
I do believe that ins 2026 we're going to see a major change in the midfield mix especially when we have Lalor Smillie Hotton Campbell & McAuliffe being added to the mix, while I also expect a bit of a changing of the guard in the back line given Yzes comments about wanting to have Balta Gibcus & Trainor all part of the defensive unit long term
Blight is a rookie and Colina is Cat B.In - rosas, pick 3, pick 4, kellaway
Out - Kmac, blight, KOSCHITZKE, colina
Is that more or less what’s anticipated. Strangely I don’t think Dow is contracted either
No, we don't need to delist 3 more from the senior list. What you are not taking into account is the list structure. Maximum players allowed on the list at the start of each season is 42, excluding Cat B rookies. The list structure can be variable depending on what the club wants do. List structures (Ex Cat B) can be:Blight is a rookie and Colina is Cat B.
Campbell needs to come onto the Senior list from the rookie list.
So to bring in the above, we need to delist three more from the senior list.
the way they are going might take 10 years to get to 50. We need to fix the footy department top to bottom. It was a hard watch.
But I’m looking forward to adding Lalor, Smillie, Sims, Faull, Alger, Gibcus, Trainor, Kmac2 into the mix.

No way they spend 4 on Kellaway! He will be lucky if we actually pick him. Rosas can't get a game at the GC, and you want to give 3?In - rosas, pick 3, pick 4, kellaway
Out - Kmac, blight, KOSCHITZKE, colina

He means in Rosas, Kellaway and whoever we pick with picks 3 and 4.No way they spend 4 on Kellaway! He will be lucky if we actually pick him. Rosas can't get a game at the GC, and you want to give 3?
We lost to Sydney by 113 points in the last round of 2016. What helpful things did you learn from that match?Today i learnt that the future is ****ing grim.

Are you saying we will definately win the premiership next year? Because if you aren't, the comparison is pointless. We lost to Sydney by 113 points in the last round of 2016. What helpful things did you learn from that match?
Haha definitely not. Rosas should be a late future pick at mostOhhh that's better for a moment, I thought we would be getting
